This is gonna be Legend.... wait for it.....

Wish I could complete the word. I feel like Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother. I have 4 words for you....

I.... hate.... prodromial.... labor!!!

Everytime it starts I think... Is this it? Is it gonna keep going? Is it gonna stop? and just when my I get my hopes up, it stops! Ugh!

I'm so sorry! Crazy mind games our bodies play with us! I know this isn't the same thing, but I'm having TONS of BH and it's driving me nuts because I keep wondering if something is going to happen (even though I still think I'll go late). I wish they would go away so I could just go about my normal day! I can't imagine what it would be like if they felt more like "real" contractions. Hang in there!

So sorry you are having to deal with that!

I have been having contractions EVERY day, since the beginning of June...and not just oh a little tightening here and there. And they have progressively gotten more uncomfortable and even painful, and I have hours at a time where they are less than 5 minutes apart...I am SO sick of contractions! They are so pointless for me cuz I'm sure she is going to stay put until my c/s on Sept 19, but I have to be miserable with them for 3 months!

I've been having BH Contrax this afternoon and they are driving me crazy... at least it has pushed me to start packing my hospital bag and work on my birth plan! Wink

I can't imagine contrax that felt more like actual labor contrax... hang in there girl. You are almost at the end.

:bigarmhug: Just remember even if they aren't true labor they are still helping!

I am with you though, my body seems to just love to contract. Last night I woke up to pretty painful contractions every 8 minutes, I was sure we'd be heading into the hospital but after a few hours I managed to fall asleep and woke up with them back at about 20 minutes and not as painful. At this point I'm thankful for it but if I were 38 weeks I'd be super frustrated!

First, lemme say that your daughter is absolutely adorable! Congrats! Smile

I don't post on the August board cause my first two pregnancies were late and induced and so I figured with a due date of Aug 30th, I'd for SURE go into September. I still might, but I've been hoping that this baby would be different.

I don't really wanna be induced again, but dangit, the prodromal labor has me and hubby feeling VERY impatient.

In fact, today I thought, well, I'll try and pick the contractions up and use my breast pump for a while. After about 4 minutes it got me a contraction, but nothing to write home about. And the longer I stayed on the pump, the more I got. I lost count of how many I had, but none of them lasted over 30 seconds and none of them were very intense. And then when I stopped the pump, the contractions stopped again and I realized that I should have lubricated my nipples as I now have massive cracks on them. :ouch:

I thought, immediately afterwards, "if this did put me in labor, they are gonna know up at the hospital that I used my pump to 'induce'."

I wasn't trying to induce, just progress with my contractions a little bit more. Oh well, not like it worked anyway.

I'll probably still deliver in September.

Yeah, I did. And after a couple of weeks of it, after having ineffective membrane sweeps, when the doc offered induction I went for it.

I was hoping to be able to fend off the pressure... but this time is just extremely difficult. I'm so tired. My body is so sore. I just want it over with.

Did your inductions go well or no?
Are you taking EPO? Hopefully this time will be different, pregnancies can be so different from one another.

My first was simply not ready. We did Pitocin at 41w2d and it was a 27.5 hr labor. The pit worked to bring on the contractions, but I didn't dilate well. Went in at 2cm and didn't get to 4cm until 12+ hours into it when I got the epidural. Then I stalled at 6cm and they broke my water. He came out with vacuum and episiotomy plus a 3rd degree tear.

My second I was "stretching" to 4 cm when we went in for induction. We chose cervadil that time and the labor was MUCH better. They didn't need to do pit in the morning like originally planned. I dilated quickly and delivered 8 hours after the cervadil was inserted.

I have been taking EPO orally since 36 weeks and I was contemplating starting a vaginal dose tonight. I was 2cm on Thursday, and my doc said they'll do a membrane sweep at my next appointment (Friday, 39w 3d). Although I had that done with both my other two and it didn't even make me spot.

DH and I have been DTD just about every day and I've been trying to remain active and use my yoga ball and I've been playing Dance Dance Revolution (happy birthday present I bought myself).

I would be doing that right now, but my sciatic is REALLY bugging me. Sad
