handmade Christmas gift ideas? OT

Do you make Christmas gifts instead of purchasing things? We don't have a lot of money this year so I think I am going to make some gifts this year. Actually, the girls will be involved with the creating this year. Last year, Sophia helped me make these magnets for her prek teacher. I think I am going to have the girls make a set for each family member (grandmas, grandpas, aunts, etc) They are cheap to make and practical!

Anyone else making instead of buying for family members?

Unforunately I am not crafty enough to make gifts so I have to purchase everything. But we cut our shopping list in half, we are not buying for anyone but kids.
I love the magnet, BTW Smile

Same here, I'm not crafty but we only buy for kids.

The magnets are so cute!

I am knitting a scarf for my brother. For all the grandparents (there are three sets) I'm going to get picture frames and put in a picture of each of the kids, Ronan's footprints, and Catie's handprints. Last year for the grandparents I did calendars with photos of the kids.

I'm making a couple gifts for the kids. pillowcases for the 3 older kids and I found a cute stuffed Rainbow. It's supposed to be a door hanger, but Shayna will probably sleep with it. She LOVES rainbows.

For the female family members I am thinking of one small gift(gift cards to panera for the 2 older nieces, magazine subscription renewal for one SIL, etc) and then making them fleece scarves with pockets(excuse how awful this pic is):

Sigh, I don't know though, I have VERY picky family members when it comes to gifts.

Last year I crocheted scarves for my sisters and I made a prayer shawl for my aunt who is battling cancer.

This year I may gift some of my tomato jars, since we were able to can more than we did last year. Maybe I'll do a basket or something. I may crochet a few gifts too if I can find the time.

I usually do a lot of baking as well and those always make great gifts. I have an awesome recipe for nut brittle.

I do a ton of baking/candy making too. Great gifts for teachers/neighbors/etc.

I'm not making much this year... too busy with a new baby in the house. Next year though, I'd love to do more handmade gifts like sewing aprons for the ladies, knitting hats/scarves for the nephews/nieces, etc. We will bake a whole bunch of goodies this weekend for DH to take to work and to give to neighbors/friends! Smile

I love the idea of those fleece scarves.
