So I finally found a few minutes to wrote this. Jayden and I are doing well so far. We have the breastfeeding thing figured out for the most part. I seem to be getting enough milk for him, but not for pumping so I dont know what Ill do when I go back to work. Probably have to supplement.
So here goes. Wednesday night the 17th I woke up about 2:30am and felt a little damp, thought maybe my water might have broke. I went to the bathroom and felt down there. It felt a little weird kind of like astroglide consistency. But it was just a tiny bit and no contractions so I went back to bed. I woke up twice more with the same thing. About 5:30am I got up and had this urge to clean the kitchen. I called the doc about 7am. He said I could go into triage or wait another hour and call the office. I waited since I wasnt really leaking and thought it might just be stuff from my appointment the day before.
I went into office & the doc thought the same thing but he ran the test. About 2 min later he came back and said i think ur going to the hospital. He had the ultrasound tech check and sure enough I was a bit low on fluid so off i went to the hospital. Now of course I have been having contractions for how long and now that my water had broke no contractions.Once I got to the hospital they started pitocin. The figured I would go really quick since I was already dilated to 3cm and effacted to 80%. Well that didnt happen I was stalled at 3cm. I was doing ok with the contractions at this point. They kept upping the pitocin and decided to try to put a monitor inside to see how strong the contractions were. Well that was it. They couldnt get the monitor in cause his head was so far down already and that was some of the worst pain I ever experienced. I made them stop cause i couldnt take it. I asked for my epidural at that point.
That didnt take to well, it took on the right side but not the left. The anesthesiologist gave me a refresher once which helped and I was up to 6cm. Well they were moving me around cause his heartbeat dropped a bit and put oxygen on me. Well at that point I really started to feel the contractions, they came back in gave me another refresher which didnt work. I thought I was dying the contractions were so strong and every minute with hardly any breaks. SO they brought the anesthesiologist in again and here the epidural had been pulled out while they were moving me. He redid it and while he did that I felt the head move down more but I kept my mouth shut cause I know they would have stopped and not finished giving it to me. After he left the room I told the nurse and sure enough I was 10cm & ready to go. They went into panic mode & I couldnt feel anything so I was happy. They called the doc and he headed back in. They told me to try to push a few times. Well after about 3 they said STOP, I was going to deliver w/o the doc LOL. He showed up and 15 minutes later and about 7 pushes Jayden was out. I got to help pull him out and up on my belly. After that I lost track of time. Next thing I know it was almost the hour and I had to try to breastfeed.I kind of felt bad about that cause I didnt realize how much time had passed and I didnt get him on me sooner, but he ate and all was ok. My epidural wore off pretty quick & I got moved to my room.
So except for the epidural adventure everything went well and quick.
Sounds like a fast delivery. He is absolutely adorable.

Sorry the epi wasn't working but I am glad it ended up working after all. Great birth story, and he's super precious! Congrats!
He is a total sweetie! And try not to worry yet about your freezer stash. How long until you go back to work?
