Do you let your baby sleep as much as they want during the day? The past couple days my lo is sleeping all day then getting them to bed at night and nightime feedings have become a battle. Im wondering if I should keep them awake during the day or just go with the flow?
I do but our night time sleeping isn't an issue. On days DD2 doesn't sleep well in the day, she gets overtired and is up until midnight.

I think it depends on the child, and how long they're sleeping during the day. It is possible for them to have their days and nights mixed up. I try to have at least a little bit of awake time with Ronan after each feeding during the day, but there's usually one time a day when he'll sleep from one feeding to the next. As long as he gets a reasonable amount of awake/play time, I let him sleep. Honestly, too much sleep is not our current problem... we could use some more. But you know how it is- the challenges change daily!
I never wake a sleeping baby, sleep begets sleep. He sleeps 7-8 hours straight at night too (***knock on wood***) so it's obviously not affecting his nighttime sleep. The book I read says to get them to sleep right as they get drowsy during the day and not to let them stay awake more than 2 hours at a time during the day or they get overstimulated, overtired and fight sleep. So far it seems right on.

All day my baby fell asleep within 30 mins of eating despite me trying to play with him. This evening he woke up at 730, I gave him a bath, then a bottle at 8, and now he is wide awake. I was trying to rock him to sleep but he was fussing so I just put him in the swing and he's wide awake in there, talking. He isn't like this all day until its time to go to bed. I have the room dark and im not talking to him. Its going to be time to feed him again soon ughh
I will not let her go longer than 4 hours between feedings during the day. One day we were busy and I had run to the store and I thought DH would feed her, but he didn't because she didn't wake up. So she slept way too long that day, and therefore was awake half the night (she had been sleeping consistently 8-10 hours at night the whole week before). So I think now she is getting back on her schedule again and now I am making her stay awake a little bit during the day. Yesterday I even had to strip her down after her bottle because she wanted to go right back to sleep. But she slept so much better and slept all night! So I think we are getting back to normal and I won't let that happen again.
Before I didn't have to worry about it because she pretty much set her own schedule and was already sleeping through the night. And most times she is up and ready to eat about every 3-3.5 hours.
Typically I don't ever wake a sleeping baby. Sometimes if he's kind of waking up and it's time (or past due) to feed him we'll get him up and see if he wants to eat, but we don't ever rouse him from a deep sleep. He rarely goes more than three hours during the day and 3-5 hours at night.
