'Must not deliver before'...

Okay, without jinxing myself- does anyone else have a 'must not deliver before...' a certain date going on in their heads?

For example... My dear Hubby is out of town from the 20th until the 2nd. Around the 1st, I am at 37 weeks, but I know that realistically, you can deliver at 35-36-etc...

So although my kids have been pretty dependable at making it past the 37 weeks mark, I am getting pretty damn nervous!

Anyone, anyone?

I just want to make it to full-term this time. I do have a personal goal though. I don't want to deliver before 34w1d (which is when Brandon was born).

Other than that, Brandon starts pre-school Sept. 7 so I really don't want to miss that.

I have a few:

My first and foremost one is to NOT deliver before Aug. 24th. That's the day I hit 36 weeks, however, if I deliver before then then I'm shipped out to a hospital with a NICU 2 1/2 hours away.

Also, on that same day I have my hair appt booked, to get my hair cut and rehighlighted. It REALLY needs it, and I know they say not to do anything drastic to your hair not long after having a newborn as it may confuse them as to who you are based on looks, plus right now, I'm not sure if we're getting family pics done when she's born, or if we're gonna wait till Christmas. so I want to be prepared lol. However it's not a MAJOR thing, just one thing I look forward to... gives me a couple hours of me time lol.

Should I make it till my due date, which is Sept. 21st, I do NOT want to deliver on the 22nd or 23rd. Reason being is it's DS #2's birthday on the 23rd and I don't want to be in labour/hospital for his birthday. He was really bummed I think when we told him we were having another little girl, he was voting for another brother, and I think it would just put icing on the cake so to speak if I was to be in having her, or just had her for his birthday. I'd be happy a week or so before hand so that I'm home, healed and feeling better.

Other than that, baby girl can arrive any other time.

I had a "must not deliver after..." date which was my due date (also my birthday) with the pre-e diagnosis I dont think that'll be an issue. For now I'd love not to deliver before I hit 36 weeks, which is August 30th. **fingers crossed**

My birthday is Sept 12th, and the baby is due the 27th. I have had that as my "must not deliver before..." date since I got pregnant. DH is currently deployed but should be home before my birthday, and I really really want him home when this baby comes!

I would prefer not to deliver until September 1st, which is the day after my due date... I know that sounds nuts, and I really am anxious to be done being pregnant, but I really want a September baby! (My due date is Aug. 31). DD was due in September, but born in October so I got gypped last time! Lol! Mommy wants sapphires! No, seriously... the first few days of September would work best for us as far as scheduling goes, and having my mom fly down to be with us, etc. DD's preschool classroom visit is August 31st, and her first day of school is September 7th, so if I could deliver sometime in between those two dates it would be perfect. I don't really expect the little one to cooperate, although it would be nice if he did!

August 24th! That's when I hit 36 weeks and has been my goal the whole time. Now I'm really pushing to make it to at leasts the 24th.
All that said I think it'd be really great to deliver after September 1st. The birthstone for September is so much prettier Wink and my older kids start school September 1st, it'd make things much easier if I were still pregnant as opposed to newly postpartum with a newborn. September 2nd would be cool because it was my due date with DD1 and it's the Friday before labor day weekend, would make childcare much easier Lol I really *don't* want to deliver between August 29 and September 1st, because it's just going to be really hectic with back to school stuff...and of course before the 24th Lol So he can come August 24-28 or anytime after September 1st Wink

Well my boys start back to school 8/25 and I would really like to not be in the hospital then although I will be 35+ wks which is term for twins. I would really like to wait until the nect week to deliver and although Sept birthstone is SO much prettier I want a 8/31 baby...why????? Well..... the kinder cut off is 8/31, so if they are born in Sept they will be 6 when they finally go to school, which means another year of daycare x2!

I've definitely considered the kindergarten cutoff. If this baby were a girl I'd really want to go before the Sept. 1st cutoff. DD1 was due on September 2 and I cannot imagine if she were only entering 1st grade this year, she'd be so bored! Being a boy I'm okay either way, if he comes before the 1st we may hold him back anyways. He'll only be a year behind DS1 in school if he's born before the 1st and we send him the year he's old enough...I'm not sure if that'd be a good or bad thing yet.

I can not deliver before Sept 10 because that allows my daugher to have her first day of school done and it also puts me @ 37 weeks. If I can make it to 37 weeks than I will be induced and an induction will be a lot easier for planning where my daughter can go than a spontaneous birth.

Oh, I totally agree about the kinder cut-off. Here- it is October 1st so my Sept 15th boy went into kindergarten last year at 4 years old and had his 5th birthday in class Smile

School.starts the 23 and I would really like to be there that day. When it come to our pay it would work out better for me. I would really like to make it to Sept 1 as others have said the sapphire is.much prettier. The way I'm contractioning I can't imagine another week but at this point who knows.

Because of DH's work commitments I'm hoping to get as close to 40 weeks as possible. He is home until I'm 36 weeks and then he leaves for a couple weeks again. Hopefully I will deliver on or after my due date so he won't miss the birth. Fingers crossed!

Hadn't thought about it in terms of when this baby is born, but that is definitely something we are dealing with now! My DD turns 4 this year (in early September), and I have done a ton of research and made a lot of calls trying to get her able to start kindergarten next year (when she is nearly 5, rather than the following year when she is nearly 6).

No luck, though, as the cut-off for our parochial school is July 1, no exceptions, and the cut-off for the public schools is August 1 (with a waiver application process for kids born August 2 to September 1). My kid with a September 12 birthday is out of luck, even though academically and socially I think she could potentially be ready.

Anywho, back to the original question, my goals have been to
1) Make it to 35 weeks. (check!)
2) Then make it to 37 weeks. (check, as long as I don't deliver in the next 6 hours)
3) It would be nice to make it past my birthday (38w1d).
4) It would be nice to finish out my scheduled work days (39w).

Who knows if those last two will happen? Not a big deal either way.

Ohh I had a HUGE list about two weeks ago. We've been doing a ton of upgrades on our home - new tile, new carpet, a new wall in our kitchen, new exterior doors & storm doors, new paint all over. The list goes on & on. Really I was insane for even starting so many big projects being as pregnant as I was (I was around 30-33wks when it began). Now we have almost everything done, just touch up work here & there, get my garden outside under control, wash & organize Lochlan's clothes & diapers, and then just keep up on the house & keep it clean. One downside to being OCD *and* birthing at home is I get so rediculously anal about how clean & organized everthing is lol I also have one more week of work - once that's done I plan on resting for a week before baby comes.

The kindergarten cut off - I believe it's September 1st here - my twins & youngest son are all born end of September & have done well in school. I am almost positive this baby will come the 30th or 31st (hoping 31st) of August, so I plan on holding him back a year. I think with boys it's sometimes (although not always) to their advantage to be older when going to school, as opposed to younger.

for me it's a window of "do not deliver here" the window is from about sept 4th-sept 10" and i'm due the 8th.

reason is.. DH and DD are both in a wedding on the 10, so with rehearsal stuff and wedding day stuff i'd like to not have to worry about a newborn. i gotta get DD to get her hair done and if i'm new out of the hospital i won't be allowed to drive...
DD also starts preschool that week. and the first week always has a few special things to attend(orientation, meet the teacher...) and and with no baby would make those things easier.

DD's dance class starts that week as well. though i'm sure if she gets a baby sister that week she won't realize she's missed a class i'd rather her not.

And the fact that if i'm in the hospital in labor during any of these events will really mess things up(especially the wedding), or even still in recovery then that means i will miss them, and don't want to do that. if in recovery DH knows he can go do the wedding thing and he will just come to the hospital with me when it's over.

so i almost hope to deliver by 9-1 so we can be home, settled, and have started a routine by the time all this stuff starts

Lurker from October '11

Sept 21st. I'll be 38 weeks 1 day on that day, and I'm moving 8 hours north from where I live right now. DH is going with me but we're not sure if he will be driving our vehicle or if I'll have to drive myself and our daughter and he'll follow in a rental truck. So for those EIGHT hours that we're on the road, Owen isn't allowed to make an appearance. After that, all bets are off Biggrin

My original hope was to wait til AUg 12th since that was my "get done with my stuff at work" date. And then the 13th was my birthday, so i wanted to wait til after that weekend for obvious reasons AND i would have been upset if i didnt get my maternity pics done. now its the 14th im making home made salsa. i need atleast one more day at wrok so finish up loose ends. After monday its game on!! i alredy served Kendra her eviction notice on FB to LOL i keep having contractions, but those darn braxtons are such a tease at times!
