So here's the deal. I know this guy who has had a crush on me for over a year. We've hung out a few times. He owns a bar and grill in the town I work in. I've had both his younger brothers in class. Short background history there. Knowing he wants to date me etc...he has offered to pay to have someone come in and clean out my basement etc for me. My basement flooded.really bad and there is now mold.etc growing down there and it is a complete mess. I know I should not clean it because it won't be safe. I can't afford to pay someone myself. Would you take him up on his offer and.let him pay for it? I really want to say yes but at the same time feel guilty. I do like him and could see.myself dating him in the future possibility once all the drama in my life calms down and my child is my #1 priority. I would say I'd pay him back but the reality is that I know I won't have the money to do that. I'm really gonna be struggling as is. Any opinions would be great.
I guess for me it would depend on how good of friends I was with him and I'd definitely explain to him that dating is not something I'm interested in at the moment. It's hard to say. It really wouldn't be safe for you to do yourself though.

I would totally avoid it. There will definately be some expectations there and considering your situation (just out of a serious relationship and very pregnant) I would be careful!
BUT at the same time, you don't want the baby exposed to mold. If you own your house, have you looked into if your insurance covers it?
i agree...i wouldn't let the guy pay for it...its very nice of him to offer, but id feel bad if i had someone else pay..
I wouldn't do it for the simple fact that it may lead to more drama. I obviously don't know the full story but based on what it is at the moment I would hold off on taking that offer. Most men have a hidden expectation when they do something like that, even if they say they don't.
