Pain

I have been having alot of hip and pubic bone pain lately. Today, it is so bad that I have cried. I haven't taken Tylenol because it usually doesn't help. I have tried laying down, warm bath, a shower, walking, etc. I don't know what else to do. I talked about going to a chiropractor and DH wasn't thrilled about that. Said he'd rather me not take the chance of that going bad. Drying off after bathing, putting pants on...it's all a chore. I can't pull my leg up to do it because it hurts so bad. I'm not contracting and Carter has been moving all day so he's fine. I'm the only miserable one. DH has been wanting to go do stuff today and I have just said no all day. He's been gone all day pretty much. I just needed to whine for a bit. Thanks for listening!

Is it like, pelvic floor pain, or higher up in your hips? if it is pelvic floor, the chiro may not be able to do much for you. I asked my midwife about my pelvic floor pain and she said it kind of comes with the territory of having a second kid ( I notice it more after dtd, and it is only alleviated by sitting down). Hip pain has been MUCH helped by visiting the chiro. It is a world of difference. The thing with chiros and pregnancy is that you need to do research on who specializes in pregnancy. I wouldn't want to go to one who didn't know how to deal with a pregnant body.

Can you ask dh to at least do research with you? Ask him to back up his belief that it could cause harm? Possibly even go to a chiro together and talk with the chiro about his concerns?

I am having alot of right hip pain and pelvic pain too. My pelvic seems to hurt in the very front and I describe it as feeling like the bone is spliting or separating which is actually what is happening. I hope that your pain gets better soon, I found during DS1 pregnancy that once the baby shifted positions my pain got alot better. I hope that is the case for you!

sorry you are having this pain. have you looked into spd? i self diagnosed myself when prego with DD. i have the same pains. even in my hips too. rolling out of bed, climbing stairs is a chore. caution if you mention this to your dr. the research i have found is it's not too commonly diagnosed in the us, so i have had it dismissed as the "normal pains of pregnancy" it's very frustrating. i haven't looked into a chiro myself though. i wear a support belt i bought from motherhood and it helps a bit. i will sit down to get dressed, get both my feet out of the car flat onthe ground before i get out, just things tohelp minimize the pain.

good luck and hope you can find some comfort soom

I have been going through this exact samething since about 16 weeks or so and it sucks! geting out of bed, getting dressed, standing up from sitting position, drying myself, pushing anything with my feet makes me whimper in pain. and the worst part is, everyone keeps telling me not to get lazy etc cause then i will be out of shape for labor, but when i am active i pay for it later, BIG TIME!! yesterday i did nothing more than clean my house and then walk around our local park and my pubic area hasnt stopped hurting since, its 10x worse than normal! tylenol doesnt help me either. i came across SPD in my research too...

I am doing much better today. As I was getting off of the couch last night, something popped. I have felt a bit better since. Now, it's just the normal aches and pains that I'm used to. I'm actually walking almost normal today. So, I'm starting to think a chiro would really help if I get in that shape again. I'm hydrating today because I contracted for several hours last night. Refused to go to the hospital though. This is going to be a long few months.

I was thinking it was SPD as well! Support belts really help...

I'm glad the pain is better but make sure to drink lots of water and rest when you can...and watch those contractions.

I've had a lot of hip pain this time around. Laura, what you describe totally sounds like my experience this time around. I try to be active and exercise but my body feels like it's been hit by a truck after. I end up in tons of pain. I guess it comes with the territory.
