QOTD: Monday, 10-17

What's your favorite, healthy go to snack atm?

(Hoping some new ideas will help all of us reach our weight loss goals!)

Dried fruit is mine! We dried apples, bananas, pears, and some pineapple these past couple of weeks. It helps curb my sweet cravings!

I really like the crunchy granola bars- there are better things i know but the granola helps milk supply

Trail mix! I make my own because I'm allergic to some nuts (not all). I know almonds are a good snack when you're BFing, as well. Nuts and dried fruit are a good combination for me- sweet and salty. Yum!

My recent find (since going dairy free) is LUNA bars! They have a new flavor "chocolate dipped coconut" that is to die for! :drool: But you have to watch the calories. Half of one is a good snack, and then you can have more later. Smile

I usually snack on sliced apples or baby carrots, but I just got some rice cakes and pretzels for snacking too. We always have granola bars but the kids eat most of those. Oh and I love wheat thins and cheese spread. Speaking of cheese, string cheese is another snack we always keep on hand.

My routine snacks are a cut up apple with peanut butter or a fruit/yogurt/fibre 1 mix. Both are about 200 calories.

I have trouble with the bars if they are too yummy :rolleyes:

Ooh I am not so good at the healthy snack thing (oh hello, entire bag of popcorn.. where did you go?), but sometimes I'll grab a yogurt or something to dip in peanut butter (pretzels, carrots, apple).

Note to self: get more crunchy granola bars! (I usually get the chewy ones, b/c DD1 likes those.)

Definitely Erin, this past week though I'm forcing myself to eat breakfast after the kids eat and then I got a lot of healthy snacks yesterday grocery shopping. I've heard you should really try to eat within 30 min of waking up to prevent your body going into 'starvation' mode as far as your metabolism goes...I don't know that I eat that soon but I'd say I now eat within an hour and a half of waking.

I find meals are hard to sit down to- so instead, I am eating junk Sad
