Quick CD ?

There is a lady selling this:
21 Bumgenius 3.0 diapers in gender neutral colors (2-3 are pink). These come with the double inserts. Says they are gently used and asking $140, bought in 2009 and 2010.

Good deal?

:lurk:
That makes them 6.67 each which is an AWESOME deal but do you know that's the kind you want? If you've tried BG before and like them I say go for it but you don't want to end up w/ a bunch of dipes you don't like. Although for that kind of deal you could resell them and get your money back easily.
Does she have pics of them and everything? Did she say why she was selling them?

I have never used CD before, but this lady is selling them on "junk mail" at my Moms job. She is also selling 2 bags that you hang on the door for dirty diapers? She didnt post pics although she sd that she has it all in her car. I think she had some other random baby items, so maybe her child has out grown them??? I was thinking this sounded like a great deal, but wasnt sure.

Yeah it is a great deal. I would ask her what version BG they are and if they are velcro or snaps and what condition the velcro is in too. BG are known to have tabs/velcro that wear out and you have to either sew new on or convert them to snaps. However they are great diapers that tons of people like so a good choice for you.
So would you pick these up in person? If so, you could check out the condition and ask her questions then.

The bags that you hang are just called hanging pails and are waterproof to store the dirty dipes in between washes.

that is a great deal and if the velcro and elastic are in good shape I would be inclined to snap them up. I found the 3.0s though didn't fit my newborn, wasn't until she was about 3 months that they fit her well on the smallest setting. I use them a lot now.

I would ask to see pictures or see them in person to check out the condition. The wet bags are great too, it is all I use to store dirty diapers.

That is a great price. Even if the velcro/elastic is worn out... you can buy the kits online through the cotton babies website to fix them if you know someone who could sew and would do it for you for free or for a couple of bucks a diaper. The 3.0 version still comes with aplix if I remember correctly... not until the 4.0 version did they introduce snaps. I have some 2.0 version and 3.0 and 4.0 ones as well. They did upgrade their aplix for the 3.0 version from the 2.0 version, so it may not be worn if they were just gently used. I'd definitely try and take a look at them or ask for some pics maybe?

If there are 21 (good circulating stash), and they are 3.0's, I'm sure as long as she used the laundry tabs, they're probably not in bad shape at all. Could be, but less likely.

Not a fan of the aplix anymore, now that their 4.0's have snaps, but I still use mine. I like them coz they have PUL for about an inch on the inside in the front, so you don't have to fight to keep clothing dry due to interior sticking out. Their microfiber inserts aren't fabulous, but you can always add hemp or something to it later if needed.
I'd go for it... not a fan of hanging wet bags though, I prefer pail liners in a garbage can so I have two hands to put them away. Smile

I am going to have my Mom look at them tomorrow (not that either of us know what we are looking at) I will have her examine the elastic and velcro specifically. The lady says they were her favorites and "some have considerably little wear and all work properly" so maybe we will look at them and if they are all good maybe we will take the plunge!

Definitely ask her to take a good look at the elastic and velcro. I'll be honest I don't like my BumGenius 3.0s. The velcro won't even keep the diapers on my DS anymore unless he has pants on (and he usually does, but especially on hot days it'd be nice to let him run in just a diaper).
There's a mom of twins on the CD board that uses Sunbaby diapers, I've heard lots of good things about them too (and I plan on getting some but she's releasing new prints this month and I'm holding out for them) and you can get 24 of those new, with inserts for just over $100 and they have snaps which I know are intimidating when new to cloth but believe me once you get going almost everyone prefers snaps, they just wear better.
