Hope it's okay that I start another random chit-chat thread. The last one was several pages back and getting really long.
So, I just wanted to brag on my DH today. He has been wonderful today! He made us fruit crepes for breakfast with whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. He has also spent the rest of the day helping me clean... He cleaned the oven, swept and mopped the kitchen, vacuumed the living room, and is working on the bathrooms now... just cleaning alongside me because he knows how important it is to me to do one last deep clean before Little Miss arrives. What a guy! I'm so thankful that he is willing to help me out like this.
Wow.. sounds like DH is nesting!
I have to complain about mine.
He took our 7 year old and they left yesterday about 8am to go "backpacking" for an over night trip. So I got to stay home with Daniel and Evie. I wasn't able to do anything house wise during the day cause each time I attempted to, Daniel would try to help with his sister. My mom came over about 10am to watch Daniel for a little bit so I could try to get Evie to poop (hadn't pooped since Wed afternoon--still hasn't made progress on her own), but then she had to leave.
Since I was getting nothing done around the house, I decided to take the two OUT. Daniel was, for the most part, cooperative while we were out, but it still made me really tired.
Somehow I was able to do the dishes last night before going to bed (don't know how). And then I took Daniel and Evie and went to church by myself (big task if you ask me).
So here's my complaint... DH and Jacob walk in this afternoon and what does he say right after his "hi honey, did you miss us?" ?????????? "Could you clean the table and the kitchen? It's grossing me out." Okay, so I had left lunch on the table (what Daniel didn't eat) but it had only been there about an hour and I'm danged exhausted from trying to take care of the two littles by myself while he was out having fun. Grrrrrrr.
Oh, and "wash my trousers". The man needs to buy another freakin pair of pants! Gah!
Janelle and Brad 8-25-01
Yay for a helpful dh!!!
I can relate more with Janelle on that topic. It stinks, dh was SO helpful the first week. I was surprised because he really wasn't with the other kids but that first week he was really making an effort to keep the house clean and he was cooking every night. After that first week though it's been back to business as usual PLUS this weekend is opening of bow hunting and he's leaving, his one weekend off this month and he's going to be gone the entire weekend. I just hope he gets a deer this weekend or who knows how much I'll be left with all the kids this fall/winter.
I've been very irritated with my mother in law too to be honest. Really just our entire family. My brother and dh's sister haven't even SEEN Isaiah yet and he's 2 weeks old today, just haven't taken time out of their busy schedules to go see their new nephew I guess. I haven't even gotten a call from either one of them to say congrats or anything. My dad hasn't seen him since the hospital and he's been off work the last two weekends. My mom is pretty much the same, she did see him about a week ago but that was only because she is borrowing our camper and was here to pick it up. Then there's my mother in law, last Sunday she came over right at Josiah's nap time with no warning, when he naps I try to nap! So I was a little irritated and laid on the couch with the baby the whole time. She sat and stared at me, the whole time until Josiah woke up, commenting on how messy my house was (and really it wasn't that bad, dishes were done and clothes were washed, at 1 week pp I think that's pretty great!) and how I was still in my pajamas at noon (hello I had had a baby a week before!). When Josiah woke up he was cranky and needed cuddling and then Isaiah woke up hungry, what does she do? Takes Isaiah! Didn't ask or anything, and she's not lactating so it's not like she could help with him and I shouldn't have been lifting Josiah at that point. I'm just really irritated with her, did I mention the whole time she was here my oldest was asking her to watch her ride her bike because she figured out how to ride without training wheels all by herself!? And of course she wouldn't, she's all about the baby but won't pay any attention to the grandkids that actually care and want her attention. She also dropped all 3 older kids off at my hospital room the last day in the hospital despite telling me the day before that she could keep them until we got home. Oh and she had off that Wed.-Fri and said she'd help but whenever I suggested any time/thing she could do to help she was 'busy'.
Wow, that turned out to be quite the vent
Sorry Evelyn's not pooping Janelle, hopefully you can get that sorted out. Are you making sure to drink enough water yourself? It's easy to forget to do things for yourself in these first few weeks.
I took Isaiah for newborn pictures today but tomorrow I think I'll try my hand at it myself, he's not real predictable with daytime sleep yet and he ended up being alert the whole time but I wanted some sleepy newborn pictures. I want to get going with birth announcements before he's a month old so hopefully I'll get something good. Hard to believe he's 2 weeks already! He's really such an easy, content baby...it's just been really great, makes that transition much easier

and can I just say that I'm really itching to work out right about now! I bought some pants after DS1 was born to wear for Christmas (so he was 12 days old) and last night was dh's class reunion so I tried those pants on and they wouldn't button It's not like I expect to be at my normal size but I'm just really wanting to feel like I'm actually doing something about it. I'd probably try but today I was in the backyard doing our fall cleanup of toys, taking down the kiddie pool, ect and I started bleeding again (it was pretty much gone as of this morning) so I don't think it'd be a great idea.

I was *just* thinking that I had some random stuff to share but didn't really want to start separate threads for them! :P
My milk has come in (like whoa), but Ellie is not up for the challenge.. She nurses well, and nurses as often as I'd expect, but she only stays on for 10 minutes and it does nothing to help the engorgement! Ack!
Finally pumped tonight after she fed, just enough to ease things up a little bit (one storage bag's worth from each side). I feel a lot better now!
First night home was last night. It was about what I'd expect sleeping wise, with Ellie waking up pretty frequently, but on the major plus side, big sister slept through ALL of it (they are sharing a room). Phew!
Wendy, can I steal your DH? Way to step up to the plate!
I feel like I have been neglecting the board in the last few days. Hope I haven't missed anything major!
I don't know if I pushed myself too hard this weekend or what but I feel awful this morning. Tired, achy and nauseous. I'm miserable and just want to go back to bed. I would hope it is impending labor but I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing.
Definitely either sick or impending labor. I've thrown up stomach acid (despite having already eaten) twice and feel really sore and pressure in my girl parts when I stand up. My legs are achy but I think that is b/c dh and I walked a lot this weekend.
