Lenora... I hope you don't mind if I post a random question for today.

Just wondering, who is everyone's favorite children's author or favorite children's book(s)? Thought it might help some of the newbies out there to start a little library collection if we all could share our favs!

My two LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read. We do it a couple of times a day.

They really like some of the classics right now like "Green Eggs and Ham" and "There's a Wocket in My Pocket" by Dr. Seuss. They also have loved "Brown, Brown Bear What Do You See?" by Eric Carle and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "10 Little Rubber Ducks" by him as well. My DD loves any books right now by Sandra Boynton, but her favs are "Belly Button Book", "What's Wrong Little Pookie?" and "Pajama Time!"

Dr. Seuss. He's a classic. "Are you my mother" was one of DD1's favorite books. Well, it still is but when she was the twins age, it was the only book she wanted me to read to her.

Currently we are stuck on "Goodnight Moon"

Dr Seuss! i am even going to take a few of his "seussisms" and print them onto card stock and frame them to hang in the nursery!

Goodnight moon was a favourite for a long time. For the first year I could recite it to her and it would calm her down.

Now she likes "click clack moo" and "chicka chicka boom boom". Robert Munsch is good too. I didn't realize how much they read them at daycare until I bought some and she already knew all the words!

No worries about starting a thread. I take a break on the weekend so feel free to post one

As a former first grade teacher I have a ton of favorite children's books. Brandon loves Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle, and the No David books.

Some of our other favorites are:
-The Monster at the End of this Book
    -I'll Love you Forever
    -The Jolly Postman
    -The Cow that went Oink
    -Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

Oh we have so many favorites. I can recite Good Night Moon without even looking at the pages
Love Dr Suess books, we have one that is titled "You're All My Favorites" that I really like. I really love "On the Night You Were Born" too, and "God Gave Us You". Can't go wrong with "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom". We have so many books it's rediculous, I really can't even name all of our favorites. My older daughter loves Little House on the Prairie books right now and my younger daughter is learning to read so we do a lot of the BOB books right now. My son loves most picture board books at the moment but we have a truck book he really likes and a puppy book where you can 'feel' the puppy's fur...I think those are his absolute favorites right now.
