Last night Bradley sleep a soild 8 hrs. Hes a month old (today actually) and he weighs just over 7lbs. Is it bad that I let him sleep through the night or should I be waking him up? He is gaining weight well and with DD1 I fed on-demand from day one and she gained crazy weight. I just worry because he was small when he was born and his sister is still waking up every 3-4 hrs (although she is smaller then him).
If he's gaining appropriately I wouldn't worry and I'd let him sleep. Isaiah was sleeping through the night within that first week or two and he was 'only' around 7lbs but he didn't lose much weight and he gained it all back quickly so there was no reason to wake him. Last night he gave me a 5 hour stretch and a 4 hour stretch, which is pretty normal these days.

That's a tough call. If he were my baby, I'd wake him at least once in there to feed. I don't feel comfortable letting them sleep more than 3 or 4 hours at a time at this point. But, then again, my other two didn't sleep through the night until they were around 9 months. And Selah wakes about every 2 1/2 hours all day and all night long to eat right now.
I'd say play it by ear. it may have been a one time thing. A baby needs to eat 10-12 times per day so if he is getting the required feedings while also sleeping through the night then you should be ok. if he is dropping a feeding or two and not making up for them during the day then you need to wake him.

I'm jealous! I would love it if Ronan would go more than two or three hours between feedings at night! I think it just depends on what you're comfortable with, but as long as he gets enough feedings during the day and is growing appropriately, I don't think it would be a problem.
I agree, may have been a 1 time thing. My opinion is I will only wake a baby to eat during the day to keep it about every 3 hours, then at night let them sleep. Is that trend continues keep an eye on his wet diapers. He should have about 6-8 at this point. if not, then I would wake him

Thanks everyone, He slept 6 hrs last night woke for a feed and went back down for 4hrs. He is getting enough feeds and wet diapers, so I'll wait and see. Like you ladies said, it could change (hopefully not, it makes the night much easier when I only have one baby to look after).
