Vacations?

So does anyone have any vacations planned before LO arrives? We are going to the beach just for a long weekend later this month, but other then that I dont think we will be doing much else. Originally we had planned a week long beach trip in August, but my OB nixed that plan after we found out there were 2.

I wish! We usually go up to NY in the summer to visit my family (and go to the beach), but it's just not going to work out this year. Between limitations of when we could fly because of the pregnancy, and the renovations on the house, it's just not going to happen. I'm sad- I always look forward to it! We might go up to KY for a long weekend to see DH's family, but that would be it.

We just got back from our "babymoon" but were planning another trip to the US over the July Canadian long weekend (July 1st) but my insurance cuts off out of province coverage at 31 weeks (I would be 31 weeks the day we would return). IF there was any discrepency in my due date at all, there is potential I would not be covered for any of it so we decided not to go. I wanted to do some outlet shopping Sad

Kind of.

We're driving to the beach next weekend thurs-sunday, I have a continuing ed conference and my parents will be at their beach house, so we'll be dropping the kiddos off with them and staying together on the adults only floor at the hotel.

Also, over the 4th of july, we're going down to stay with my parents at their beach house thurs PM - tuesday. It's a family tradition, really.

Other than that, no, no major vaca plans. I need to work as much as possible between now and delivery so that my projected salary will be as high as possible.

No big vacations, mostly just day trips, maybe an overnight or two. Being pregnant really limits a lot of the things I like doing during the summer but I'm sure we'll go camping at least once and we definitely plan on going to a big waterpark at least once. We do lots of beach trips each summer so we'll definitely do that. In late August there is a fair up by my grandparents cabin and we usually go every year, but I'll be 35-36 weeks pregnant, which is when I've delivered all my other kids...I am thinking we'll see how I'm feeling at that point, I'd really like to go but obviously it might not be the best choice this year.

No trips for me Sad Last trip to my parents back in April (200 miles away) the ride home was so uncomfortable with contractions. So I would rather not risk it. Even though as soon as I got home and out of the car I was fine, I don't want to A) be uncomfortable for a whole car trip or Dirol be away from my OB and hospital if for some reason the contractions didn't stop.

My vacation is the week after next. I can't wait! origionally we were going to virginia beach but DH just got hired on at a new job and therefore wont be able to take a vacation so it looks like we'll have a staycation...most likely just do activities around town when DH isn't at work. =/ but oh well at least I will be able to relax.

We were planning to go to Calgary for a week during Stampede to visit my DH's family, but I'll be late enough in the pregnancy then that I don't want to be any distance away from an emergency facility in case I have a placental bleed - the drive to Calgary takes 9 hours and it's largely in the middle of nowhere. So I think we've opted to stay home Sad

possibly. We are trying to get MIL to take the boys for a few days so we can have a weekend alone, but I'm not sure I really trust her to take care of our 2 year old by herself for that long.

Well we've already done two vacations (our cruise to Mexico and then Disneyland) so we don't have any plans for any big vacations.

My parents have asked to take Brandon for a week and half right before my birthday so Chris was talking about getting away for the weekend. Since it's so late in the pregnancy we won't go anywhere too far. We may do Vegas but I've also been looking into Solvang and the Santa Ynez Valley, and possibly Pismo Beach. My birthday isn't until the end of July so we have some time.

We are also going up north for a wedding for the Fourth of July weekend and for my birthday at the end of the month.

Lenora, can I come be a part of your family...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't afford to take vacation so I'll be home. I was supposed to go to Vegas to see a friend married but I cant afford the plane ticket, hotel etc. I was going to cost like a $1000 in the end.

We are going to Baltimore for a long weekend, Cape May NJ and a trip to the Outer Banks in July. We also would like to do day trips with DS, before this little one arrives.

Last year we were thinking on trying to get away and go to Southern Ontario where all the good attractions are, however, now that I"m pregnant, travelling just isn't in our plans lol, especially since we were looking at probably Mid-August, that's way too late and too far from home (8 hour drive away) for my comfort.

In 2 weeks when we go back for my 3D ultrasound, we're planning on making it a whole day - and oh what a tiresome one it will be! We want to take the kids to the Sudbury Science Center. It's 4 floors of really cool stuff, including a huge butterfly gallery where you can go in and see the butterflies. Right now I'm not sure if we're going to leave extra early *say 7am* to get there at 10, go there before my u/s, do the u/s, do shopping then come home, OR do the u/s, go to the science center, maybe do a bit of shopping, then come home, or skip shopping and just come home. Either way, it's kind of like a day vacation, and probably the best we're going to be able to do this year. We did want to go to the polar bear habitat not far from here, but the last polar bear died from old age, so that option was out.

No big plans this summer - just one family trip to the beach in the middle of July. We were supposed to go on an Alaskan cruise in the middle of August, but that's just not going to happen with a due date two weeks later!

Also, I am desperately trying to save up my vacation days for maternity leave. So far i haven't used any for the year, and I'd like to keep it that way!

almost every Friday in July/August I have planned a day trip for DS and I, parks, zoos, downtown attractions, swimming, etc. Just lots of little things we can do together before the baby is born. I think I'm actually looking forward to those the most!

No vacation plans here since we just got back from Disney last month, unless I can talk DH into going to the beach for a weekend or something. I've never really been to the Atlantic coast before! We'll just be hanging out at the neighborhood pool a lot. Wink

oh how i wish! between the cost of fixing up the basement for DD #1 and the expense we will have to completely redo the nursery (we are tearing up the panel walls, hanging dry wall, moldings and new carpet), there is nothing left for vacation. What is left is for maternity leave and the rest of the needs for LO. Plus i need all the vacay/sick hours i can get for materity leave so i dont take too much time unpaid. i would LOVE a trip to the beach alone with DH for a weekend!

I'll have to talk with dh and see when he wants to go. Maybe our dates will line up Smile We live a little over 3 hours away so it's a regular thing for us, we actually went to the Dells in February and March this year but it's definitely more fun when all the outdoor water parks are open and they have some good food places too. Not sure if it'll be a July or August thing for us though, July is usually pretty hectic for us
