So, I know the routine is to put on the hospital gown for labor and delivery. But, after you deliver, do you change into your own comfy clothes? I remember with my 2nd dd, the nurse recommended I didn't because of post partum bleeding and ruining my clothes, etc. What will you all do? I would like to change into a comfortable nursing top and cozy pants afterwards. I would like to look somewhat stylish this time around for the visitors!!!

I was in the gown until going home, and looking back I regret it. I plan to have comfy clothes. I may check out the clearance racks for some comfy shorts that I won't care about if they get ruined

I bought a couple nightgown type things that have buttons in the front for easy access for nursing. I had a c section and will again, so being able to pull my gown up for insision checks and tummy massages (whatever it is the nurses do) and bathroom visits is much easier. I bought them at Kohls. They are a little old lady looking, but a nicer option than the hospital gowns.
Well I too will be having a csection so I will have any IV for at least 24hrs afterwards. I ususally leave the hospital gowns on until after my IV and urinary cath. are out!
Another csection mama here I get out of the hosptial gown ASAP. The moment my cath was out I had my own clothing on with the exception of wearing the hosptial mesh panties. I can't stand hosptial gowns. If you do get some blood on your cothing hydrogen peroxide takes it out really well. I wore dark bottoms and a comfy top the whole time I was in the hosptial.
I wore the hospital gown for delivery last time and then changed out into my own stuff (nursing gown and robe, though I do plan to bring some comfy pants and a nursing tank this time too). I plan to do the same this time. I was cautious about ruining my gown, not that I really cared but I lifted up my gown when I sat down so I wasn't sitting on my gown, I'll probably save the pants/tank for the second day.

Both of my other kids were born in last winter, early spring... cold weather. So, I wore like a running suit after the first night. DS was born at 9:13 at night so we were bugged all night long by nurses and such. And DD was born at 3:12 pm... but, I still kept the gown on for the first night I think. This time, I'm just going to bring a pair of comfy pajamas and maybe a t-shirt/gaucho outfit for the second day.
Catie was born at 2pm and I was under general anesthesia for the delivery, so I was feeling pretty out of it for the rest of that day, so all that day/night I wore the hospital gown. The next day, when I was feeling a little more human I changed into nursing pajamas that a friend had given me, and wore them for the rest of my hospital stay.
