I forget..

Do you have to fast for the glucose test? I cant remember and didnt really want to call the dr office if i didnt have to

I didn't have to....just couldn't eat the hour after I took the test.

My instructions were nothing sweetened 3 hrs before then nothing after I drink it.

You get more accurate results if you do. My doctor said it wasn't required but you are more likely to get a false positive and have to do the 3 hour.

That make sense - I'm taking mine first thing in the morning, so I will just eat breakfast afterward. Don't want to have to do the 3 hour test!!

Thats what I was thinking, more accurate if you did....with ds it was first thing in am i think I took it, now i have it in a few weeks and its at 11...

No fasting here either, expect for the hour in between taking the test and getting the blood draw.

At my MW office they give the new 2 hr test which is fasting, blood draw, drink the sugar drink, wait an hour, blood draw, wait an hour, blood draw.
I've never even been close to having GD so I declined that test. They instead gave me a Hemoglobin-(insert random series of letters and numbers that I don't remember). I promised my midwife that if my numbers were elevated that I would go do the 2hr test. I didn't fast beforehand.
My numbers were no where near the cutoff so I'm good to go.
