QOTD: Tues 7/17

Do you do anything (EPO, raspberry leaf tea, dtd, etc) to help "push" your body along as we are getting closer to the end?

I just started using EPO, just one capsule at night and I have been drinking raspberry leaf tea for a couple of weeks.

I'm not, as I don't want to chance it.

What's EPO?

I use EPO (need to go get some), RRL tea (will start drinking this week), dtd, and towards the end I even use castor oil.

Evening Primrose Oil, you can take it orally or insert it.....it helps soften the cervix.

I'm starting raspberry tea this week and my doc suggested EPO starting at 34 or 35 weeks - I am considering taking 1/day earlier, but I'm going to wait to see how my specialist appt goes next week.

Ok, I had no idea you should do anything of this - I'm not being smart, but why? I'm curious?

It's totally optional - just natural activities like walking to help encourage dialation and positioning.

RRL Tea helps tone the uterus - it's good for general female health. Actually my doc said I could drink it in moderation the entire pregnancy. Just make sure it's natural Red Raspberry Leaf tea and not black tea with Raspberry flavor.

EPO has protaglandins which help soften the cervix

I really want a natural birth but my specialist will induce at 38 wks if I haven't had the twins on my own. My OB suggested the EPO orally first and then orally and vaginally to help encourage labor on my own prior to my induction date. She said no vaginal until 36 weeks.

She believes it can help you get ready if your body is ready but won't cause labor if it's not but can encourage thinning of the cervix especially vaginally. The reason she wants me to wait is that since it's my first PG and with twins, she doesn't want to encourage labor too early. I do know it take some time to take effect.

With the pregnancies that I had drank RRL tea with my postpartum bleeding has been quite minimal compared to those when I didn't drink it.

With the EPO I take 3/day orally and then around 36 weeks start inserting 2 vaginally at night.
