Hi all! My intro: (kinda long)

My name is Danielle and I just got my BFP yesterday! While we were certainly TTC, this was a total surprise for us. I have PCOS and DH also has a male factor with low morphology. It took us nearly 2 yrs to conceive the first time. After several rounds of Clomid that did nothing, we ended up having 3 IUI's before I got PG with my twins--- who just turned two on Dec 29! We decided this time that we really wanted to try on our own without meds, and met with our RE to talk about it. We've been TTC since October and I've been charting on Fertility Friend. I had an HSG done on Dec 10. We were going to try on our own until April or May before discussing injections and an IUI again. While we want another baby, the idea of another set of multiples is a little scary.

Because I would like to share why we were surprised, here's my chart for this month:

My Ovulation Chart

I had several days with a pos OPK (Relatively common from what I can tell for women with PCOS) Anyway, I ran out of OPKs which is why I stopped testing. Notice that the last day we DTD before "O" was on Dec 22. With the holidays we were busy and didn't have time nor the energy to DTD constantly--- and we were getting ready for Alaina and Aiden's birthday... Since starting to track I've always had a temp dip before O. I had decided that as soon as I saw a temp dip we'd bd and just take our chances. I never had a dip, so when my temp did jump, I thought for sure we had missed it since it had been nearly a week.

I had some spotting and cramps about a week ago and thought for sure AF was coming since my LP has been between 10-12 days. Then the spotting stopped. Then my temp dipped again and I thought for sure she would be here that day.... that was Monday. Tuesday it was higher, but I thought it was because I might be catching what A&A have. Tuesday night I had a dream that I POAS and it was positive. I woke up and my temp was the highest it had been. So I did POAS but only because I KNEW it would be negative and didn't want to be thinking about the dream all day.

Low and behold, those lines popped up so fast. I actually did a double take to make sure that two lines meant PG lol. Best I can guess is that I O earlier but had a slow fall back rise in my temp. I expect that I O 12/23 or 12/24. What a surprise Christmas gift!

Now for the interesting part. (As if the rest wasn't already...) If I O on 12/23 I am 16 dpo. If it was the 24th, I'm 15 dpo. At 14 dpo with the twins my beta was 429 and at 16 dpo it was 956. My beta yesterday was 1068! I go back again tomorrow for another. If it's twins.... (pardon my language....) I might just sh*t a brick. I'm just saying...... just saying...... Ultrasound is Jan 21! I will of course be happy no matter what the outcome is. I just think it's ironic. Smile We aren't telling anyone until at least 8 weeks if I can hold out that long.

Here's just a quick snap of the PG test I took yesterday morning.

And then after receiving confirmation with the beta test, I had to use a digital one. Smile

Welcome and congrats! It must be so exciting that it happened easily this time around. HH9M! I can certainly understand your feelings about twins at this point. I have 2 kids, and the thought of this being twins would scare me, too!

Hi Danielle, Congratulations! I have twins as well, they were spontatoues so I don't have any experience with ART's. But the pregnancy was a surprise bc we concieved when DD was 9-10 months. The twins were full term (39 weeks) and DD was 19 months old when the twins were born. It was a living hell the first 2 years. It nearly ruined my marriage. I was the hardest thing we have ever gone through together. I love my girls to piees and wouldn't trade them for anything but if I could have had them one at a time - I gladly would. I hope not to have the stress of twins again. High hormone numbers do not always correlate to twins. I'll keep you in my thoughts for a lovely singleton Smile

Thank you! It wasn't always easy, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Olivia is the same age as A&A. So cool. Smile

Yes, I noticed that. DD selfweaned just before her 2nd birthday. BF one that long was difficult at times but totally worth every minute. I can only imagine doing it with twins!

What a milestone for you, too! A&A self weaned too. I really thought they'd go at least 18 months, but they had other ideas. Smile

Hey Caitlin!!!! So good to see you. And Corbin is so handsome! Smile I was so surprised that I was able to do it without going through all of that again. So it is possible. Keep hope, and let me know how things are going. Do y'all have plans to try again soon then?

We are always talking about having another. I think if our financial situation were more stable then we would definitely be ttc. We aren't doing any preventing due to how long it took to get Corbin, but we haven't had any months with really great timing lately either. I'm tracking my cycles but not doing OPKs or anything like that. I can usually tell pretty easily though when Im Oing. Right now I'm mostly just doing a lot of lurking and dreaming Wink

Thanks for checking on me. You truly are an inspiration and it gives me so much hope that we could do it on our own. We really feel like we could but we thought that last time! Ha!

I can't wait to stalk your pregnancy and live vicariously!! Smile
