    Default Met the Midwife today

Today I had my first pregnancy appointment. It was just the basics, where I talked to the nurses and did my history. and wieght. Although I got to meet the woman who, barring complications, will be delivering this child. I'm very happy. Shes a total sweetheart and my husband really appreciates that the doctors office has a CNM on staff. I also found out I'll be getting an ultrasound on Friday, to see why I've been having spotting. Also, had my bloodwork drawn. I honestly forgot how much blood they take for that. My daughter came with us, and she was fascinated with the blooddraw. My three year old may be a bit twisted.

That is awesome! I can't wait to hear how she reacts to hearing the heartbeat!

I hope they find nothing to worry about on that ultrasound.

Thank you. I'm sure she'll be delighted.

As for the spotting, they think it might me residual implantation bleeding, but I'm not too convinced. we'll find out. and now that I've hit six weeks, I'm further along than my previous miscarriage, so yay for that.

Yay for a good appointment. My kids also love watching me get blood drawn. My guess is it wouldn't be so entertaining if it were their blood

So the ultra sound was ok. They could not see a baby, but they saw a healthy yolk sac and all that. The tech seems to think i'm not as far along as we thought. I have another ultrasound on the 15th to try again.

ps... bloodwork came back ok, so nothing wrong there.

Great news, maedae! I had my u/s yesterday too and same result Doc said the baby is measuring for 6 weeks, not 7 like my LMP said. We got to see and hear the heartbeat tho!
