Finding the right fabric

I am new to sewing. I am planning on sewing a baby sleep sack, I have a pattern but now just need to find the right fabric.

I asked for Baby approved fabric at the fabric store but they did not have any. Can I just use the fleece or flannel they have there or should I source infant approved fabric?

Any thought or suggestions would be appreciated.

I think fleece would be OK. The only caution with not child approved fabrics (I believe) is that they are NOT fire resistent. I believe it's baby proof because it is treated.

Fleece is very flammible but if you don't have a smoker in the family, you should be fine.

I know this is a thread is a little old but I made Aiden's sleep sacks out of jersey material so he could use them in warmer weather!
