I'd like to learn to sew. I have a used machine that I borrowed from someone. I want to make sure that I'll stick with it/like it before I invest in my own. So far all I've managed to do is read the owner's manual and stare at the machine...lol. What I think would help me is a really good book on beginning sewing. I know nothing. I don't know how to prepare fabric, cut it, measure it. I don't know how to follow a pattern. I don't know anything about sewing. So what I'm saying is I need a book that spells it out in an easy to understand format. Also I tend to do better with instructional books that have an inspirational vibe to them. For example I'm learning to knit right now and LOVE the Stitch 'n' ***** book because it's inspirational and instructional. Anyways, so if you know of any good resources I'd love to hear about them.
My first project is going to be baby wipes. I figure I can't go wrong with squares, right?
