Well i love the look of the hotslings/ tapered pouch slings, but didn't want to dish out the $40 to get one.. So I sewed one instead. I made it reversible, and it has 2 seams versus one, using the bias of some cheap calico fabric from Wal-mart (my sling cost me less than $10 to make)... My big problem was knowing what size to sew it too because the instructions i could find on the web are all for women that are not pregnant. I assume this is a little too big for me to actually use at first, but I will be able to down size it later  Just so you can see my incredibly feminine sling here's a pic:
Just so you know i used the pattern from Celtic cloths, and with minor alterations was able to make it reversible and to use with the calico fabrics versus a more expensive stretch fabric. My first attempt with the pattern was rather rough and ended up being MUCH too large, but i had used older fabric that I wasn't as concerned about having the use of later. I may try to go "repair" that first attempt so that it is usable, but it really helped for when i made this attempt.
