Default Having IUD removed

Anyone have any experience having an IUD removed? I have a Mirena and will have it removed in December. We want to TTC right after that. Just wondering if anyone has any experience.

I had the Merina IUD removed this past December. I didn't have complications aside from some pain during sex and in general, I just didn't like the idea of having something foreign inside of me despite the lack of hormones like the pill.

I didn't have it removed because I was TTC, but having it taken out was a lot easier than having it put in. That being said, both were quick and relatively painless aside from a moment of minor discomfort. By the time my OB said she was taking it out, it was over and I hardly felt it. When I had it put in, I remember feeling a little more. I am sure it will go smoothly for you.

Good luck with your TTC journey!

I have mirena as well and plan on having it removed next spring. I was wondering how long it takes to conceive after it's removed??

I had mine out in June...noticed my first 2 periods were different than they had been in the past...my OB said your uterine lining needs to thicken up in order to sustain a pregnancy. by August, my period flow was "normal" and I conceived in October!
good luck.
