Default Question about bloody show........

Ok, today I started losing my plug and having the "bloody show", although I'm not sure what the difference is..........Does anybody know when some blood is too much blood? I just had this unbelievable urge to go pee, pretty much happens whenever I stand up, and when I wiped, there was redish blood there, red on the verge of pink. Not fire engine red or red like when you cut yourself, but definetly more than the pink it was earlier. The total volume of blood was maybe a teaspoon or two, not much and it was only when I wiped. There's also a little, for lack of a better term "after-gush" of what I thought was more pee coming out after I pee. I held some tissue there to catch it, out of curiosity, and it's totally clear and has no odor, so now I think I may be leaking.........

Has this happened to anyone? I'm just a little worried about the blood part, not sure if I should be concerned or not.

I wish that I had some words of wisdom on this Fawn. I would get it checked out rather than sit and wonder. You could definitely be leaking. Pleae KUP!

If you are unsure, call your practitioner and ask.

Good luck! Sounds like your ball is definitely rolling.

No idea, but I would call to have it checked out.

I'd call your midwife Fawn It sure sounds like something is happening, that's so exciting! I had a similar type of discharge, bloody/mucosy before I went into labor with My oldest, and with Seamus.

KUP!

Sounds like water and bloody show at the same time to me!

I would go get checked out though to make sure it is water - if so you will want to know.

From what I know as a doula - some blood is normal when your plug comes out or when the water breaks - but it shouldn't be much. What you described seems normal - but if you get more/heavier - I'd definately make sure your provider knows about it immediately.

It sounds like you are beginning labor to me!

My bloody show always came as a I was pushing, and it was blood dripping out, bright red. The mucous plug looked like a wad of elephant snot, sort of white-ish and brown streaked (the blood was old). My mucous plug came out with my water breaking the first birth. The second birth I never saw it.

I suspect that all is well if you are not in pain, but as previous posts say, it does not hurt to call your practitioner.

Me too, I had that with Kailey and she was born less than 24 hours later.

Mine came when I went to the bathroom but it was very obvious. Like mucus and blood together, not at all watery blood (like from a cut).

You probably already have but I would call. KUP!

I had loads of bloody show with all three. I lost my plug and had bloody show only when in full labor. It was bright red and I needed a pad to catch all of the mucousy/bloody goo that was coming from it.

And I could wipe an it would just stretch and stretch and stretch like snot.

YAY-- you're having a baby soon!
