Hi ladies! We thought it would be helpful to create a thread where we could all share the various symptoms we experienced once we stopped birth control. So please add to the list! We invite everyone to contribute, even if you felt great after going off birth control.

Method of Birth Control(Pill, Shot, Ring, Patch, etc.; & Brand if you'd like):

Positive:

Method of Birth Control: Pill - various brands, the last one being Apri(generic for Desogen)

Positive:

-Migraines gone! - I suffered with migraines for years and they were starting to become more intense and more frequent. Have not had any since going off BCPs

-Libido increased? - I also think my libido has increased, although that could be my desire to get preggers!

Negative:

-Very oily skin and increased breakouts

-Did not ovulate for 5 months

-Heavier AFs once I was truly cycling again

Pill- Mircette brand

Positive:

*Increased sex drive
*Overall, felt more normal and more energized

Negative:

* I never ovulated on my own
* Very oily skin and breakouts

Pill- most recently Minulet

Positive:

*Increased sex drive (though like Terri it could be the desire to get pregnant?!)

Negative:

* First cycle off BCP was 143 days
* Oily skin and breakouts
* More emotionally unstable!! I used to only get emotional just before AF, now I don't know what is going on....!

I just went of Triphasal last month, and got my period 5 days late...just started, so I don't know if it's real or just spotting!
My migraines have stopped, and I am less emotional :P
Libido has also increased...may be psychological because I want to get prego.

Positive: i had pretty regular cycles, first few months 27 days...after that it has stayed to 30 days.

Negative: decreased sex drive

I had no symptoms, just increased pms (which for me was just cramps and moodyness)

a little longer AF and heavier

Method of Birth Control:
NuvaRing

Positive:
-Headaches decreased
-Increased libido
-Increased sensitivity to nether regions
-Decreased tenderness in breasts

Negative:
- First natural cycle was only 3 weeks, very abnormal for me.
- Increased acne
- Increased moodiness

Method of Birth Control:
Pill-Marvelon

Positive:
-decreased cramping
-shorter af and lesser flow
-obviously you knew exaclty when AF would show her face

Negative:
- First cycle off BCP was 71 days!
- Increased sexdrive
- Increased moodiness
- felt much more tired around AF
- Cramps increased in pain and lenght of time (now I get cramping 3-4 days during AF)

Can I say that even thought the negatives are present I will most likely never go back on the pill untill i'M completely done TTC (for our first and second child). It simply messes up your body too much and to wait this long for it to go back to normal again and waiting to see if you're going to ovulate on your own is driving me bananas!!!!

Yes I am still on it so this my version

Positive (for being on it): almost regular cycles, Less acne, Less chance of birth defects whilst I am on another medication. Somewhat controling PCOS

Negative: Decreased sex drive, decreased CM, Not being able to TTC!!!!!

By the way it shouldn't be for much longer I hope!
