Default Christmas Lists (not swap related)

Anybody got ideas about what you'll be getting your kid/s for Christmas??

I know we'll do a couple of media things (They Might Be Giants has a new cd/dvd out) and maybe a couple of dvds (animated movies with animals). But I'm at a loss for toys. I've walked down the toy aisle several times lately and not much has jumped out at me. We don't have to worry about little pieces as much, so I wondered about maybe doing Littlest Pet Shop toys.

Hey Beth, take Caleigh to the place you'd buy her toys and let her peruse (sp?) them. That's how I got ideas w/ Tyler. When he hung out w/ the Thomas the Train items for a long while, it was obvious what to get him. He also gave me other ideas too. That might help you out?!?!?

Aja's idea is good....For Brandon, we are getting him a lot of Cars toys. He is obsessed with cars/vehicles. He got a power wheels last year. I am thinking about getting him a ride on bike thing, like a power wheels. His interests are cars, thomas the train, bob the builder, dogs, paint, mickey mouse...pretty much all toys. I think this year will be much easier for us than last year or the year before. Brandon is pretty opinionated anymore.

Beth- Nathan is getting TMBG's Go Science! CD/DVD too! And their new book/ DVD Kids Go!

He's also getting a Little People Nativity. I wanted to get it for him last year, but it was hard to find and over priced. I found one reasonably priced after Christmas last year and put it away for this year. We'll most likely give it to him early though.

He'll get a Christmas book (though we haven't decided which one) as a Christmas Eve gift.

I'm really not sure what else we'll get him. I've been thinking maybe some tools.

Kari -- Caleigh loves her nativity set! We bought her the expanded set the year she was born (has a donkey, camel, and other stuff) and she's always putting the animals on the roof of the stable. We have the smaller set over at the church and the kids absolutely love playing with it. I love that it isn't a "display" version, but something the kids can play with anytime.

Jacob is getting a wooden train set and a variety of craft things (paints, scissors, etc). Not sure what else at the moment. He'll get a Christmas book at the start of Advent and Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve.

Every time Drew sees the Handy Manny toolbench on TV he says "I like that someday..." so I think that's what he'll be getting, lol. Although if it were up to me, he'd be getting that SWEET remote control dinosaur I saw at Target last week... that thing is sooooo cool.

That is a cute dinosaur, Carrie. Since Brian is so obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba!, we're getting him the YGG learning laptop and a toy YGG radio that has all the characters' voices. I really don't want to do too much in the way of toys, because he's got so much already, but it's a start.

Isn't it great that our LO's are approaching 3 years old? Shopping for a baby was easy, but not so much for a 2-year-old because so many cool toys were 3+. I think it's getting a little easier to shop again!
