I had my 1st dr apt yesterday. Got to hear the heartbeat which was sooo reassuring! It was pretty faint and kept disappearing so my midwife said baby must be moving around like crazy in there. Always a good thing! They also had some H1N1 vaccines left so I got one of those too. I was really planning on avoiding it but he was throwing some scary statistics at me and DH was practically begging me to get it so being that it was readily available, I caved. I feel kinda spineless for losing my nerve inside the drs office but at the same time, I feel like I'm not living in fear anymore. I also feel wrong having gotten it when my LO hasn't gotten it but it's not easy to find vaccines! He also said that he would really help me try and get my VBAC but with the complications with my last delivery, the lawers might make it difficult but he said there were ways around them. It's nice he's really on my side with that and not fighting me on it. I will have to be referred to a different dr towards the end cuz midwives can't participate in VBACs so that's a bummer but I've heard awesome things about the dr I will be referred to. But all in all, it was everything I wanted, I measured normal and baby was alive and healthy so we're so happy we can finally be more excited than cautious about this pregnancy!

that sounds great! Hooray for a heartbeat and a wiggly little creature
I would have gotten the H1N1 vax also... in fact I think even in my non-pregnant state I want it! |

Yay for good appointments. Don't feel bad about getting vaccinated. Its probably the best thing for you and baby at this point, especially since you're a working mom.

Sounds like a great appointment! Hooray for a heartbeat and an active baby!
I don't usually get the flu shot but this year both Adam and I are getting the H1n1 and he is also getting the seasonal. Although the h1n1 is hard to come by around here...we're working on getting it though. It seems like the benefits really outweigh the risks on this one for preggos. I'm glad you feel more at peace!

If it helps you any, I declined H1N1 for Ryann and now I'm pretty sure she has it and it SUCKS.
