Default Do any of you double ovulate?

I double ovulate and so does my mother. (I have twin sisters.) We both feel when we ovulate as a sharp pain. Sometimes I only feel one in a month and sometimes I feel 2. This month, I think it's possible that I double ovulated. I know that I had the sharp pain a few days before Halloween and I thought that it might be implantation pain. ( i had already felt ovulation on the 20t) I've heard the pain is similar. Anyway, I'm thinking that maybe that's why I don't have my BFP yet. Maybe I got preggo with the second egg so I have to wait longer to get a BFP. I'm going crazy and thought I would ask if any of you have had this happen to you.

I don't think I do...although I have heard of that happening! Sometimes I've thought I O'd twice based on symptoms. Do you think you might have a chance of twins because of it?

If I got pregnant this cycle, I don't think it's twins because the eggs were so far apart. Plus I still have BFNs. With twins, you find out so much faster because the hcg levels are so much higher. I'm hoping that I got at least one though. :0)

I must have double ovulated with my last pg'cy that ended in mc, because I had two cysts on the same ovary (a cyst is what's leftover after the egg releases), and they only saw one cyst the first time they did an u/s, plus they discovered the ectopic twin later (after I had already mc'd the blighted ovum in my uterus). Are your twin sisters fraternal? When you ovulate from two seperate eggs, it results in fraternal twins, whereas with identical twins you only ovulate once and the egg splits.

Yes my twin sisters are fraternal. My OBGYN back home told my mother and I that we both double ovulate.

That is so cool! I hope you get your BFP!

And just a note - sometimes the HcG is similar to a singleton pg, at least at first. So it could still be twins! GL!

Thanks! I'm still hoping! My longest cycle has been 29 days and I'm on cycle day 34. I didn't bother testing today. I got a BFN yesterday. I'm thinking that I won't know until the middle of the week if that pain I felt before was ovulation pain. I've been cramping but no AF. I'm going on a cruise on the 12th so I'm hoping I know by then...

I think that is so neat. How do you feel about having twins?

I would be so happy to have twins!!! I don't think this will be the case but if it were I would feel SO blessed. I was 17 when my twin sisters were born so I got to help out a lot. I feel like that helped prepare me for my own children. I'm still hoping for my BFP.

Wow. I've never heard of double ovulating. It's kind of neat to get more than one shot at BFP in a month! I hope this is your month.
