Default Anyone hear anything

about how military bases are gun free zones--even against concealed carry permits when the state allows that?

Love to hear people's thought on this--especially those who are military members of our board.

As I understand it, military personnell as well. With some exceptions. But definitely civilians.

Thoughts? Who in their right mind actually believes making a locale "gun-free" is going to stop someone with murderous plans. "Oh, I want to take my gun and start randomly shooting a bunch of strangers because I'm an a$$, but since they've mandated no firearms on base, I'll just have to shelve that plan." Stupid a$$hats, that's who. Ignorant individuals who couldn't poor water out of a boot with the directions on the sole. People who are so caught up in their own version of how they want to the world to be that they can't see how it really is. And finally, people who's sole purpose in life to is to enslave the population with heavy-handed regulations and restrictions thus ensuring their claim and hold on power. Tyrants, in other words.

You can have a gun on post but it's got to be locked up in your house and registered with the base. You can't just carry it around with you in your truck like you could if you had a carry permit out in town.

I can see not having it on you when you're in uniform because it's against regulations.

And that is the dumbest effing thing the military could have done. Thank you, General Headupyourass, for victimizing our military.

Defenseless soldiers on a military base. Who'dathunk?

What a freaking crock.

I want an anti-gunner to give me and example of a time where a LAW stopped a CRIMINAL. Seriously, just one.

I'll ask my husband about it this next time I get to talk to him... exactly what the regs are for being in uniform with a gun and having a gun on base.

I know you can have one in your house tho. My best friend lives on base and has a gun. It's not that they're "gun free zones", as in "no guns on base period", it's that you can't have one on your person when you are in uniform and you can't have one on your person when you go into a military building (I think. Don't quote me on it.). They're all federal buildings, just like you couldn't carry a gun when you go into a federal court house. No difference, IMO.

I do see where you're coming from tho. Some of the most highly trained marksmen in the country and they can't carry a weapon.

I guess the thought process is that they SHOULDN"T NEED IT on base. Course we all see how true that is.

I'm interested to hear what your husband says.

From what I've read online--they are very strict. Some homes it is allowed, but not on many bases....plus not most dorms. Also, not any of the schools, hospitals, etc.. In other words unless they are doing a specific target practice, etc. NO guns. Even if you have a concealed permit. They will lock them up and hold them for you until you leave the base. Only exception is the police...like the lady who stopped this killer.

So, this gun man/officer knew there would be no guns in those buildings...
