Spring Break - Part 2
On the 3rd day of our vacation, we woke to grey skies and flash flood warnings.  Because the road to Big Bend would not have been fun in a flash flood, we decided to go in a different direction that day.  We strolled around Marfa - a small town known for eclectic galleries. Unfortunately, Marfa seems tohave it's own set of rules and most places were closed the day we were there.  We did have lunch at a fun little cafe with some of the freshest food I've ever enjoyed.

After mostly striking out at Marfa, we deciced to check out Fort Davis State Park.  And we ended up having a WONDERFUL time!  We got in a really nice hike in the Davis Mountains - not as strenuous as our hike at Big Bend, but fun even in the rain.

This was a view from about halway up:

And I manged to get in a few frames as well:

This is Logan and I as "normal"

But here he let me climb up on some rocks so I could be taller for one frame:

These little tricks are all I have left.  :)

The last day of our vacation, we had to wind the 800+ miles back home.  And like we did on the way out, we planned lots of little stops.  One of those stops was in Boerne, TX to see another cave - the "Cave Without a Name."  That place is SO FUN!  It's probably the smallest of the caves we have visited in Texas, but it was one of the more "open" caves - the rooms were big with lots of different formations to keep us busy.  We all had a great time at this cave and would go back in a heart beat.  They have some hiking trails and sometimes hold concerts IN THE CAVE.  I can't imagine what the ecoustics are like for that!

Anyway ... here are a few of my favorite snaps from the cave:

cave bacon - Logan took this one and I *love* it

this one is Logan's as well

We had a really great trip, despite the weather.  And I am looking forward to our next adventure already.  :D

Take care,
GiGi

I missed this earlier! Wow,

I missed this earlier! Wow, awesome pics! The first one has such a moodiness to it, and with the bend in the road way down below, it's just perfect. Great composition and mood. Fantastic work!

I also love the last one! Logan did awesome with the camera, didn't he? The texture and the way that the light changes as you get closer to the edge of the frame is so beautiful. Those caves look am-A-zing. I'd love to go somewhere like that!

Great family shots too, and LOL at the 'normal' shot. Wow, he is so tall! I know Micah will probably shoot past me pretty young, but oh my! Not ready for that - and I'm sure you weren't either!!

Tracy - I *so* wasn't ready

Tracy - I *so* wasn't ready for him to pass me up, but I will say that these days it feels more "normal" than not.  However, now that he's gaining grounds on Carlos, Carlos is struggling with it.  He'll often do a double take when Logan comes up to him - I think he is expecting to have to look down and they are nearly eye to eye these days.  The scary part is that Logan still hasn't started puberty, so he has the potential to be a good deal taller than Carlos.  I'm not sure how Carlos will adjust.  smiley

GiGi- I LOVE the first and

GiGi- I LOVE the first and last!  Such great detail and lighting!  Such different moods too! Carlos is like Randall, goofy pics are his favorite huh?  I NEVER get anything good from Randall, and now he has taught the kids to do the same!  You really captured some great moments GiGi!
