I was hoping my cycles would kind of fall into place quickly with no birth control pills! I'm now on CD30 (13-14 DPO) of my first cycle off birth control pills. I've been having subtle cramps for the past two days and a bit of brown discharge (not too sure what this is about). I know I ovulated around CD17-18 because of OPK, CM and cramping at that time. I've been reading a bit about the LP and, if I'm understanding correctly, I should be expecting AF sometime this weekend, correct? Could I ovulate and not have AF arrive?
If you ovulate and then AF doesn't arrive, you'd most likely be pregnant! My first cycle off BCP was pretty wonky, so give it a couple cycles before you regulate. If you don't get AF by Monday I'd definitly get a pregnancy test.

I did! I had purchased a combination pack of OPK and HPT. I tested with one this morning with FMU and it was negative and still no sign of AF! I'm not very patient, sometimes; but, I guess this is one of those things that I have no control over and will just have to see what happens!
Well... AF has arrived (after a 30 day cycle) and the cramps are present in full force! Ouch! I'll have to get used to these, again! I rarely had cramps when I was on BC pills and, when I did, they definitely were not as strong as they are now! Off to tracking another cycle!
Welcome to the club! My first couple of cycles off BCP were an eye opener to what I had been "missing out on" for the previous 8 years! Cramps were the beginning for me, but my skin has been horrible.

The cramps have tapered off, thank goodness! When I was on BC pills, I would only have cramps for the first day and they weren't strong, at all. Now, though, I had cramps for three days before AF finally showed up and they're definitely stronger! AF also appears to be heavier. Luckily (or at least so far), my skin has not reacted and is actually clearer than when I was on the pill - around the time of AF, that is. There hasn't been much else that's been different, though! I'm interested to see how the next few cycles play out!
