Hello!

Hello ladies! Thought that I would introduce myself. I am Kristi (35), DH is Alex (29) and we have a little one named Alison that was born April 2010. I am totally on the fence about TTC. My pregnancy with Alison was horrific. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world but the thought of being pregnant just scares me to no end!! Although, lately...I have been broody! So I am just not sure what to do. The next pregnancy could be totally different but I just don't know! I thought I would join you gals and maybe get some support!! Hope you don't mind! Thanks!!!!

Hey! Welcome to the group, Kristi!

I can relate to the scary pregnancy thing. We're starting to try again for our second in June and I'm pretty terrified. My whole pregnancy with Sophia pretty much sucked, with about 2 months where I felt "okay". I had really bad morning sickness to start off, then I had gestational diabetes that had to be controlled by insulin, then I had really abnormal and PAINFUL swelling in my legs for the last month and was on bedrest. Labor and delivery was also really scary for me. 38 hours that ended in c-section. Sad

I must be crazy to be willing to go through that again, right? Maybe. ROFL The babies are worth it. I'd do that 10 times over to have my Sophia, you know what I mean?

Anyway, I'm clinging to that saying that all pregnancies are different. And I'm going to eat a diabetic diet from the start of my pregnancy to try to get my sugars under control from the start. We'll see if that helps.

Again, welcome!

Oh I know exactly what you mean! Alison is our world but I am just a scaredy cat!!! I had a subchorionic hematoma that didn't fully go away until about 20 weeks. So I would randomly start gushing blood! Very scary. Then my pelvis started to seperate, very painful. I had horrific swelling in my feet, ankles and calves. I ended up have a slow leak and ended up with a c-section at 37 weeks. You can see why I would be a bit nervous! HA! Plus, I am already 35. I can just imagine the pain in my hips being worse the next time! ACK!

Hi Kristi!

I'm sorry your first pregnancy was rough! Do you have regular hip pain now when not pregnant? You could try chiropractic care - it helped my back tremendously during my DD's pregnancy.

We are thinking probably starting to actually TTC this Summer. It took us 3 years to get pregnant with Alison. I have a feeling that it won't take as long the next time!

I hope it's a much quicker journey for you TTC! Seeing a chiropractor and I've also heard of accupuncture for pregnancy related hip and back pain if you have the same next time. Every pregnancy and baby is different though!

Hello and welcome! Summer is the perfect time to TTC Wink I don't have kids, but from what I hear every baby and every pregnancy can be different. My best friend, who also is on preg.org, had a rough first pregnancy where she bled a lot as well and had a c-section at 36 weeks. But she is now pregnant with her second and the second one has been a lot easier for her. So you just never know. Pregnancy does sound scary though. I totally get that and I've never been pregnant.

Looking forward to chatting with you!

Welcome to TOC! I hope you conceive quick next time. It took us a really long time to get my DS also. We are also hoping that it won't be a hard next time. Great to have you here! Smile
