An interesting turn of events...

Some kind of exciting stuff has happened just recently and I'm not quite ready to share it with people IRL, so I thought I'd share with you all!

So, I'm a bit of a planner. Not out of control, down to the last detail, but I like to have a timeline. Initially, when DH and I started talking about a third child, we agreed to wait until Nora turned two and then just not prevent. We figured if we're meant to have a third, we will, if not, we're completely happy with the two we have. Out of the blue, last week, DH says he thinks we should ditch BC now and if we don't get pregnant within a year, he'll have a vasectomy. Well, that threw me for a loop. I do want a third, but we're almost finished BFing. It would be kind of nice to have my body back, at least for a little while. So now I'm on the fence. Do I just go with it and figure that if it's meant to be it will, or do I try to talk him into holding off a bit longer?

Then, on top of that, Monday night he got home and told me that he wanted to show me something. So I went to the computer and he had a real estate site up with a picture of a darling little house on two acres that is for sale at a really good price. We've been talking about moving into town for awhile now, but again, I was thinking closer to next summer. Anyway, we drove out to look at the outside on Tuesday and called the realtor that night. Yesterday we looked at the inside and pretty much fell in love. It's an old house so it has some quirks, but I love the character and the space. We went ahead and made an offer and we hope to hear back by tomorrow. It's crazy how quickly it's all happening. So we could potentially be moving in the next month.

Did DH explain the reason for all this? I mean, is there a reason he'd like to try sooner rather than later?
I completely understand wanting to get your body back, but in the big picture, that's just a cosmetic issue (unless perhaps you have medical reasons??) I would say go for it.

But then the house thing threw me for a loop. Especially if it needs some work. Seems like a lot to take on all at once???

Good Luck on the house though. Very exciting :O)

OMG Your life is like my dream life right now!! ROFL

I would talk to DH about how you feel. If you feel strongly about waiting I'm sure he'll understand. Smile

I don't know that "strongly" describes my feelings about having a baby later rather than sooner. It's not really the shape of my body that I'm worried about (BFing has been super effective for me in losing the baby weight). It's more the being constantly worrying about what I'm putting into or not into my body. It would be nice to be able to take cold medicine without having to check the lable about whether or not it's ok for pregnancy or BFing. We also cloth diaper, so it would be nice if Nora were potty trained before #3 came along. On the other hand, I'm not getting any younger. If I got pregnant again, I'd be in the dreaded "advanced maternal age" category. I did talk to DH about it again. We agreed to split the difference and leave it to chance in another six months.

We still haven't heard on the house. The waiting is painful! I just want to know if this is actually going to happen. It's an old house, but it doesn't appear to need a ton of work (of course we would have a thorough inspection). If there is something really wrong we wouldn't do it. There are definitely things we'd want to change over time, but nothing I couldn't live with for the time being.

Ooooh fun, new house! How exciting. I so hope you get it!

So six months until you TTC? That's exciting too, even though I know you wanted to wait longer. I know sometimes I think about how sucky it would be to not be able to take migraine medicines when I need them.

So I was thinking about you the other day. Nora was born in August, and you worked this past school year, I bet that was tough, or did you start back at work later in the year? All the teachers I know try to do the get pregnant in summer, have a baby in the spring thing.

Well, we didn't get the house. Someone outbid us. I was moderately disappointed, but such is life. For whatever reason, that was not the house we were mention to have. The whole experience has made us get very serious about selling our house. This means finishing A LOT of projects that have been hanging around. It kind of bugs me that we are finally doing the things we've wanted to do since we bought the house just in time to sell it. Oh well.

Both times we tried for spring babies. Instead we got winter and summer babies. I did stay home for the beginning of the year. I went back after winter break. It was still hard though. I think no matter how long you stay with your baby, it's hard to go back to work.

How Exciting!!! Bummer the house didn't work out. Hopefully that perfect house that's meant to be yours will come along soon!

Sorry the offer didn't go through but I guess it wasn't meant to be...
And how exciting about another baby but I get what you mean about being a woman and not only a mom for a while (getting your body back). That is one reason I wanted to wait to have another one.
U should definitely have a talk with DH.
