Who's here? It's been a quiet week!
My biggest piece of news is that DD broke her wrist on Thursday! She's okay, has a cast and is back to normal other than the cast.

I have been back in my hometown for two weeks for a family reunion. We had it today and there were 109 people there! Elise had an absolute BLAST with one of her cousins from California. I always day dream about moving back home when I am here, but I am sure we would be miserable here if we were to move here. It is just so hard when I see her so happy with her cousins to not want to move here. Plus houses are sooooo much cheaper here than where we live now.
Sorry Olivia broke her wrist. How did she do it?
Oh No! I hope she is doing ok with the cast.
I am thankfully on day 1 of my 9 days off work. Thank goodness. I have my MIL arriving tomorrow night (blah) and my SIL arriving Wednesday( even more Blah).... DS turns 2 on friday. So just doing the summer thing, BBQs, pool partys, and such.
She fell off a little 2' slide onto her wrist. Apparently, babies bones are more flexible than ours, so it's called a buckle fracture so not broken through and should heal in 2 weeks we hope!
I always feel that way about moving home when I head there, but then living there full time would be very different than visiting!
Sara - sorry the MIL and SIL are a pain! You must be looking forward to Tommy's birthday though!

We just got back from 3 weeks in Europe. We had a blast and Olivia did wonderful! But we're glad to be home and sleeping in our own bed. Except I'm still waiting on my luggage. Don't ever fly US Airways. In 2 flights, they lost 2 of our luggage. My sisters got lost on the way to Dublin (took 2 days to get it back) and then mine and Olivia's got "lost" (ie: left in Paris but no one can tell me why) and I'm still waiting on it and we got in Friday night.![]()
I feel the same way about visiting home as well. We live in a very expensive areaso we are still saving for a house. If I lived where I grew up we could buy a house tomorrow, but it would be in a place that I don't want to live. The weather is horrible, the pollution is horrible, and the majority of people there are so closed minded and judgmental.

Europe for 3 weeks? i am super jealous! Where did you go to? Fave place?
Yes looking forward to his birthday although I really have a hard time knowing he turns 2. Like when did that happen?
Buckle fracture? Sounds painful. But 2 weeks in a cast? that sounds alot better than a cast for what like 2 months? Hopefully she is dealing with it well and you too!
We were very lucky. My dad just retired with a bunch of unpaid time off so we took a family trip and were able to split a lot of the hotels and even rented a couple apartments which helped with the cost. Not to mention DH and I got a few date nights with my parents along. We went to Ireland, Scotland, England, and Paris. My favorite has always been Ireland! I've been there twice now and LOVE it! Plus, we got to visit a small town called Lazenby in England which is where my family came from back in the early 1700s. It was great to see it!
it didn't seem possible that my DS turned 3 last month! Time does fly!
It hurt a lot at first I think, but after casting it she seemed much better. At this point it's just an annoyance for both her and I! We can't do any water activities or sandbox while the cast is on so we've had to change plans for last weekend and some playdates we have the next two weeks too. Not a huge deal, but a tad frustrating!
The kids just got into bed tonight - about a hour later than usual. I'm hoping that means they sleep in a hour later! ha ha ha will never happen, but I can dream! LOL

Mel, sorry to hear about your daughter's arm.I hope everything heals up quickly for her.
It has been super quiet around here. I guess it's because it's summer? What is everyone up to today?
I'm just working. We had a bathroom redone recently and some hard wood flooring installed. They finished this past Friday...Yay! I have some leftover materials that I can return so I need to run some errands after work to get that taken care of. Otherwise, it's just regular work, go home, dinnertime, play with kiddos for a bit and then start bedtime routine. Weeknite evenings are always such a whirlwind.
Oh yes Lynn! weeknights are such a whirl! I'm so grateful to work from home two days a week so we only have three of those nights a week!
We just came home from a children's museum! Had a great time and met up with another mom and her kids who are almost 4 and 18 months so very close in age to my two kiddos. I'm hoping my DH comes home earlier today so that I can get more work done. Right now I'm procrastinating! oops! He did leave at 5:30 this morning so if he only works his 8 hours he'd be home for around 3pm.
