    Red face New to Boards

Hi everyone! I am a complete newbie to all of this! I'm 26, a devoted wife and a student (for RMT). My DH and I are thinking about possibly September or October to start TTC, but I will still be in school until April 2013, so it is all really up in the air. I was told this is the best place to be to help you through the entire miracle of motherhood, so I decided to join

I am already on folic acid and vitamin D supplements (I have a good base knowledge for this dt my school training) and I am also trying to lose weight before we TTC (I am not exactly where I would like to be pre conception).

I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully going through this process together!

I do have one question...How do you change your profile picture?? Thanks for the help!!

Welcome to the boards! I agree that this is a great place to start your journey. There is so much info and support here. I hope when you decide to ttc that you'll get a quick BFP. I mostly lurk around these boards these days, but wanted to say welcome!

Welcome to TOC (and to Preg.org too)!!! My plan is to TTC in October so maybe we'll be on a birth board together!

I'm curious why you went with folic acid and vitamin D and not a general prenatal vitamin?

I can never remember how to do the picture stuff until I actually really want to change mine! I think that info might be on the Welcome to Preg.org board though - try there!

    Welcome!!

I agree this is the best place to be! I came here when I first started TTC and I'm still here after my entire (high risk) pregnancy, newborn care, and still looking for advice and support in raising a toddler. It's fun and amazing here, a great group of women! We're glad to have you here!

Welcome! This is the perfect place to hang when you have baby fever. I myself do not have any kiddos and I've been hanging out here for awhile because I need someplace to verbalize my desire to become a mom. When I joined I got lots of great info from the ladies here.

And to answer Mel's question. I also sometimes take folic acid and vit D instead of the prenatal because the iron in the prenatal vitamins really mess with my stomach (serious constipation and cramping). So I've been doing like 3 days prenatal vitamin, 4 days folic acid + vit D. My doctor said it was fine so I hope it is.

I am involved in the health field, and with my diet I do not need a lot of supplementation. I take the folic acid so that when the neural tube develops (when we are TTC) there is a better chance we can steer clear of issues such as spina bifida and the Vit D is mainly for my own bone health. I will move to a prenatal vitamin probably once I have a bun, but until then, I figure this is healthier for me.

And thanks everyone for the welcome!! I really appreciate it, and tink hopefully we can be on a birth board together!!
