Leslie- I got mine on the 1st too. And I've been thinking the same thing! Maybe even less for me. I may start trying in December?????

So yesterday I started putting 2 and 2 together and came to the conclusion that my co-worker was pregnant. I had totally forgotten about it this morning and as soon as I came in, she closed the office door and broke down in tears. She is. And she's really nervous bc she had a mc in march. I'm super excited for her and at the same time, sending sticky vibes. But now my baby fever may be at an all time high!

I'm going on Vacation at the end of the month. Have to at least wait till that's over!

Well we are having a lucky streak! DF starts his job today and I got offered a full time position at my firm starting December 1st. Yay!

Vicky, cycle day 35 is pretty crazy. Hope she comes soon!

Leslie and Deidre, not too long to wait for you ladies. Smile

So exciting that some of you ladies are approaching TTC time! Fun!

Vicky - I just had a 42 day cycle that freaked me out the entire time! Thought AF was around the corner for weeks! I hope she arrives soon for you!

Elizabeth - great news on the jobs!

Excited this month for a kids b-day party, a kids halloween party and hopefully a corn maze this weekend! Smile

Ugh it is SO cold today! I am so not looking forward to another Utah winter, I can't wait until January (hopefully) for that extra heater in my belly....I get SO cold and for the life of me can't get warm all day!

and OMG :violent2: I am totally going to lose my schmidt by the time my dh gets back from Texas....he has now been there for about a week and a half and they haven't had a.single.fire which means he is stuck sitting in a hotel room for 12 hours doing absolutely NOTHING....which means he is ONRY as h@ll, and guess who gets to listen to it all? Yea, that would be ME. stupid little things set him off: for example, I asked him just barely when his work goes back to their normal M-F workweek (in the summer they are covered all week, everyone has a different day off) He YELLS at me "October 1st! It's October 1st every year, I don't know how many times I've told you October 1st" Sheesh seriously, can I have my head back a-hole? Yea he's gotten hung up on several times in the last week, I can't handle it anymore GRRRR

sorry for all the extra posts I just keep thinking of things to say (after I hit submit reply of course) plus I really need to get my post count up Smile

so do you remember a while back I was talking about a baby that died of SID's that was babysat by my babysitter? Well now there is an investigation under way because it wasn't SID's, according to the medical examiner it was Shaken Baby Sad They know when the trauma happened, so they know where the baby was when it happened, but the family isn't talking (the mom was at work, she works 2-11, the baby and the other 2 kids were at home with a babysitter there at her house, I guess the babysitter was a 13 year old girl, and the mom of the 13 year old also stopped in at some point that night, they think it was the mom who did it, but the 13 year old and the mom aren't talking)

Anyway I live in a super small town, so this is going to be a sh!tstorm when it all goes down....I keep trying to think about who it could be. And I am just so sad for the mother of that baby Sad

sorry if that didn't make sense

Lesli, that is awful, that mother must be just ill finding out that news. I'm very sad for her too.

I'm also dreading winter (even after the awful summer we had in Texas). I just got enough winter to last me a life time while I was living in Chicago. I'm also hoping that it doesn't cool down until after Oct. 29th, because my wedding is planned for outdoors. There is an indoor option too, but its not as pretty.

And yes, DF is back on board for TTC. But he wants to wait until both of our insurances kicks in. I agree with him, so maybe January for me too!!!

Leslie - I'm figuring it won't work the first time, so I'll still be at it come January. Plus my co-worker just found out she's pregnant so the baby fever will be getting worse and worse. BUT that being said, I wouldn't mind being able to enjoy christmas and new years eve with a glass of wine or two....
Is your DH a full time fire fighter? Mine is. Full time paid department, but we work in a city just north of NYC, so there is no wild fire details.
That is so sad about that baby. Must be so tough for the parents. Losing a child is hard enough, but then this? Just so so sad.

Elizabeth-Congrats on all that good job news. And hooray for DH to be back on board! Mine actually admitted he's excited for #2, but worried I'll want a 3rd when #2 is 18 mos. I told him he has nothing to worry about. I seriously don't think I could handle more than 2 with a full time job, an hour commute, and being over 40!!

AFM - chopped my hair off yesterday. Seriously. Pixie Cut. I'm still getting used to it. Not 100% loving it yet, but I don't hate it either.

My dh works for the BLM his job title is wildland firefighter Wink so his is all wildfires no fires in city limits and he's only guaranteed work for 6 months out of the year.

You should post a pic of the new haircut! I just got my hair cut also but just a trim so nothing new

Wow Lesli, you are on a mission to get your post count up! Smile

Deirdre ~ I agree with Lesli, you should post a pic of your new cut! I'm dying to get my hair done. I missed my last appointment 'cause of my surgery. Luckily, I don't have too much longer to wait... My next appointment is on the 15th.

Elizabeth~ Congrats on the jobs. I'm glad it's helped your DF feel better about TTC. I'll be thinking "good weather" thoughts for your wedding!

AFM~ We made another offer on a house. It's a total longshot because it's contingent on us selling our house, but we figured the worst that can happen is that they say no. We're going to do another open house on Sunday. This whole buying and selling houses stuff is stressful!

I'm still waiting on PPAF, now Ijust want to see if I can make it to Christmas without it so it can be a full 2 years.

I'm struggling, we had also said we would start TTC when DS was 1, but we just can't afford another child right now. I need to check a few things because I think we are getting ripped off with no childcare relief, from what I've heard we fall under the income limit, but I need to check into it more.

I used to be a home loan processor and underwriter, the whole business of selling/buying houses is SO stressful! I've also bought 2 houses and sold 1, so I feel for ya! BTDT

Infant Death Mentioned

K so more is coming out about the 4 month old who died, I'm sorry if it bothers you guys for me to write this, but I think it's better the more people know, be VERY careful about who you have watch your children Sad

I guess the 4 year old brother (of the baby) saw what happened and is finally talking about it, and the teenage girl (the babysitter) has finally started talking as well

So the teenage girl was at the family's house and was babysitting the 3 kids (ages 4, 18 months, and 4 months) the teen's mom was also there. So what is coming out is that it was the teenage girl who shook the baby (not sure on circumstances, I'm sure frustrated at 3 young kids around bedtime) the baby started having convulsions and seizures.....the teen and the mom of the teen did nothing....they gave the baby a bath and put him to bed....he was found 6 HOURS later when the mom came home from work and was checking on him.

I cannot even imagine what this mother is going through, and for that teen and the teen's mom to NOT call 911 when the baby had convulsions, then to give the baby a BATH and put the baby to BED and act like nothing happened, OMG  I just cannot fathom that there are people like this in the world. I hope they rot in H*LL. COLD BLOODED MURDER.

Like I said, be very careful about the people who care for your child

Hi Ladies!
Thought I would stop back in as the craziness of September is finally over. Ended up working a lot of crazy hours in September and my computer time definitely suffered for it. Smile But now I'm back in my regular schedule.

Leslie - Wow about that story. I'm shocked to say the least. My heart goes out to that family for their loss.

Elizabeth - Congrats on the job!! I hope your wedding is absolutely beautiful! Glad that your DF is back on the TTC wagon!

It's the time of year where I hibernate. It's cold and wet from all the rain. It was supposedly snowing on the ski hill yesterday but it's still a tad too warm for it to stick but I can see us having snow soon. Need to finish off my gardens for the year but I managed to make everything I wanted to except tomato paste - which is hopefully my next set of days off (just waiting for the last of my tomatoes to turn).

Lesli - this story gets worse and worse! I feel so bad for the mother, the siblings and their family. Did you know the teen and her mom? Other than daycare, I only have let my two best friends, one of their moms and my sister watch my kids. I just don't trust anyone else. With daycare it was nervewracking at first, but there are so many teachers there, it's monitored, they have a great reputation and I feel good when I leave my kids there.

no I don't know the teen and her mom, but I live in a very small town (about 2000 people) so pretty much everyone knows everyone (I just don't know everyone because I'm not from here originally)

I'm the same way, I don't trust anyone with my child, and I have been so lucky to have great daycare providers.

so the other day I was telling my dh that I was going to go on prenatals here pretty soon, and he said WHY? Um....we are going to start trying for a baby in Jan! I told him my dr wanted me to be on prenatals for 3 months before trying  I guess he didn't realize just how soon Jan was. He was really cute about it though, he said, I just want you to stay on the vitamins you're on right now because they are making you HOT! LOL  what a nerd.

Any plans for the weekend?

AFM, not really sure yet! My dh has drill for National Guard, so I might go up with him to that and hang out with my sister while he's at drill....but if I do that I will have to cancel my Zumba class on Saturday and I really don't want to do that. I'm leaving it up to him, if he wants me to come up, then I'll come up.

just made my appointment to get my IUD out! My doctor is super busy so I knew I better get it booked now, or I would have to wait a month to see him (SOOOO not doing that!)

so my appointment is Dec 22! I calculated where my AF would be in December and it looks like she should show just after Christmas, so we should be able to get started right away!

EEEEEK!!!! Smile

it shouldn't, I have the copper IUD in so it doesn't have any hormones, my cycle never changed when it was put in. My doctor said we should be good to go right away!

Hmm...sounds interesting. Can you give me a little more info on it Lesli? DH and I were discussed BC options after #2. I'm thinking he'll get a V and he's thinking that if I have another CS, i'll just get my tubes tied while they're in there. But I'm hoping for a VBAC so it might not be an option. I REALLY don't want to go back on BC since the last one I was on TOTALLY messed me up. But if there is no hormones in the one your taking, it could be an option.

Oh and sad update on my co-worker. She lost her baby this week. This is her second mc this year :O(
So the baby talk at work will cease and hopefully curb any baby fever here.

I love my copper IUD, it's just like the Mirena one you hear about, but with no hormones, and the copper one lasts for 10 years instead of 5 like Mirena. I have a health condition that most likely nothing would happen, but my doctor is playing it safe by having no hormones, because it ups the risks with hormones. I was on BC for years with no prob, but still, might as well play it safe. you will have a normal period (the Mirena you sometimes have no period at all, for some ladies it is just random) on the copper IUD. I have absolutely nothing but good to say about it Smile It's prob a little more expensive than other options....but it stays in for 10 YEARS! so in the long run it's prob less expensive (I think mine was $800 something, I only had to pay a portion of that)

Very sad about your co-worker Sad

I'm away for a few days on this site and the whole site changes. I couldn't find this board at first.

Things have been so busy. DF and I are both working crazy overtime. They asked me to work overtime until I leave for the honeymoon. I'm going to do it, I mean I am taking a nice long vacation (even though I'm not getting paid for it). But its overwhelming with the wedding next week.

I'm so excited though. I was freaking out all last week. But I got almost everything done and now I'm just excited about seeing my family from Boston and all my friends from out of town. Our rehearsal is this weekend.

And DF has been talking babies a lot these days. I think he's getting ready. We've been shopping for a townhome too!

What's everyone else been up to?

Thanks Lesli!

It has been an insane week. Wedding stuff was keeping me busy, but then I went to a birthday party on Saturday night and left around 2am (nothing good ever happens after midnight). When I left it wasn't raining but after about 60 seconds of driving...BAM! FLASH FLOOD. It was hailing so bad that I thought my windshield would crack. I lost visibility and drove into really deep water and my car died. DF told me we had to get out before it got too high and so we did and when I opened the door, water just gushed in over the seats. We walked through waste deep water and I lost my shoes in the rapids and cut my foot. We then walked to our friends house half a mile away (barefoot) and stayed there until it calmed down. The storm literally only lasted like 15 minutes. They went back and my car had one foot of water in it. The car dried out and amazingly is running better than before, ha! My foot still hurts.

Then, I found out Thailand is completely flooded and we most likely have to reschedule/cancel/alter our honeymoon. Such a bummer. We don't really have the time off to reschedule it and we don't have a refundable ticket. The south (Phuket) isn't really affected, so we might just have to spend our whole honeymoon on the beach...I know what a bummer right? It kind of is though, only because when else am I going to see Bangkok? And we paid so much money to go half way around the world.

In baby news, I bought my first set of OPK's last week, just for fun. I think I got a positive yesterday (cycle day 13). It wasn't darker than the control line, but it was equally dark and the darkest yet. Today it was light again, but today I had lots of CM. So maybe I'm ovulating?

Halloween is coming up, can't wait to see all the fun costumes. You ladies with kiddos will have to post your photos!!!

Wow, crazy about that flash flood! I'm glad your car is still still running.

I can't believe your wedding is this weekend. So exciting! I'm sure it will be amazing and perfect and the things that aren't perfect will be the funny stories that you tell. (At our wedding, DH's grandfather ended up wearing one of the corsages... He was confused easily.)

Sorry about Thailand. It's funny, I was just talking to a coworker about Thailand yesterday. He loves Thailand, but really wasn't a fan of Bangkok.

AFM~ Yesterday I had a 5th grade student tell me he thinks men have it easier because "women go through a lot of stuff... Periods, pregnancy... A lot of stuff." So funny. It was all I could to to not burst out laughing. Love that kid.

Haha, kids are hilarious. Smart kid, so true! I used to work at a recreation center in college that had an after school program and we had a "quote of the week" board full of the funny things the kids would say.

Another friend got a surprise bfp today. Super jealous over here. But super happy for her too!!! Meanwhile I mentioned babies this evening to DF and he said "that's not my favorite topic." How rude. He was in a bad mood though and told me when he got home that he had gone groomzilla on his hair stylist for cutting it too short today. Plus he's bummed because Bangkok is really flooded and may shut down the other airport (the one that flies us to Phuket), so we will reschedule the honeymoon for February if our employers let us. Ugh...I need a vacation already.

AFM - anyone want to venture a guess as to what was on my lawn this morning? Anyone? an effing DEER CARCASS! One of my "neighbors" lets their dog run free in the neighborhood, that dog is constantly strewing garbage all over my yard, but this is the LAST STRAW I just called the city and made a complaint, and my 2 other neighbors who deal with the same crap (and have dealt with it for several years) are making a complaint today too. I am so freaking sick of it! :violent2:
