my aunt served an LDS mission in Japan and brought us back real kimonos, my sister and I dressed up in that costume at least 2 years. My sisters & brothers and I had so much fun making our costumes, we probably started on them in August. One year my brother was a bookworm, he was the worm, and we built a book (it was HUGE) around him. I remember him also being a snowman, and a girl (that one was fun lol)

In grade 5 we HAD to all dress up as pirates (we were doing a whole thing on Treasure Island) and I didn't want to be a one. So I instead got a cardboard box, covered it with aluminum foil and went as a 'piece of eight'. I really didn't like being told what my costume had to be.
Well I'm the party pooper. I always hated Halloween and having to dress up and go ask for candy! Ha! I guess I wasn't a very normal kid. I don't really remember any of my costumes. I remember being a skunk. My mom had made a skunk costume for my brother's school play. So at one point we all had to be the skunk for Halloween. Ironically, I'm making a skunk costume for my DS's first Halloween this year.
