I just got my hair cut for the 1st time in like 4-5 months. I used to go every month in Chicago, because I liked my guy. But I haven't found anyone in Dallas, so I've been stylist hopping. I got bangs, I used to have bangs and loved them. But the lady who cut my hair this weekend, did it all weird. I look like a kindergartner.
I cut it now and then when I'm bored. It goes from a bit longer than shoulder, to short. My mom and MIL are both stylists, so I see either one of them. I don't think I've ever paid for a haircut in my life, lol!
Oh gosh, I am so bad at getting haircuts. I wear it pretty long, with bangs, so I usually just cut my own bangs and let it grow. My mom is a cosmetologist, and worked as a hair stylist, so I could go to her if I wanted, but I usually go to a salon so I don't have to bother her. I see the same person when I do go. But life seems to get in the way, and it just grows.
I chopped my hair short a few months ago and vowed to start getting regular hair cuts every other month. So far so good. I have been terrible about getting my haircut for years (coincided quite well with starting down the path towards grad school ....) and I needed something to force me to start going in for some lady pampering. I was seriously going 6 months or longer between haircuts! I would hang my head in shame when I would finally get it cut. Part of the reason for going so infrequently was the cost. Now, even though we're still cash strapped, I've decided I need to at least try to look like a human being at least some of the time. Besides, we're saving a lot by not going out to eat very much now that we have a wee one
I found a stylist in town that I'm quite fond of. I've been to her twice now and I think I'll keep going to her.
probably every 6 months or so. haven't found anyone I like for a price I like! ha

Jorgie, you are lucky to have never paid for one. They surely add up.
I'm guilty of cutting my own bangs too. And then I walk in and try to get them cut and the stylist will always say "Where did you last get your hair cut?"
I'm hoping when I visit Chicago in August I can visit my guy, I love him! Well his hair styling abilities anyway. He goes by the name "Reverend Billy" and always has a weird mohawk or beard style when I go in. And he was super cheap.
I get mine done about every 8 weeks. I try not to cut it every time to let it grow- my hair takes forever to grow. But I have been trimming it every time along with a touch up of color. I spend probably more than needed to have it done but I think it keeps me feeling human. I am currently fighting the urge to chop it. I usually chop it and donate it, but literlly it takes about 3 years of growing to get about 12 inches to cut off. Trying to hold out one more year. Oh and same stylist for me!
