September Chat Thread

I just realized that I've posted twice on the August chat thread, but really it's September!

What's going on this month?

For me, it's back to school and my birthday. There is a cake I've been dying to try out, so I decided I'm going to bake myself a birthday cake! Mmmmm.... cake.

I posted in it too Smile oh well

not really sure what's going on yet this month....my dh is currently in Texas on another fire rotation, he will be there for 2 weeks.....I'm just working my regular job, teaching Zumba 3 times a week and taking care of the babe. I may be going down to my parents house this weekend, they live 2.5 hours south of me and my little sister and her dh are going down too, so I'm just about sure I'm going down....my only prob with going down is I was gone last weekend (I so do not like driving hours on end, only to have a day or two to relax, then drive forever again to go back home) but it's not nearly as long of a drive as last weekends trip.....my other prob is I am the manager of a small rental car company, well I am the only employee of this branch, so technically I'm "on call" all the time, but I'm at a point right now where I just want a weekend off. I get paid really well if I do get a call out, but like I said I just want a weekend off.

sorry that was really long and rambly

lol yesterday I bought something off of babysteals.com......belly bands! I'm not pregnant, and won't be for a few months yet, but I thought it was a great deal ($31.49 w/tax & shipping for 2) and they were really pretty colors lol

besides, my little sister (due in March) has all my maternity clothes, so I figure they should hold me over until I get everything back from her Smile

I do feel kinda silly that I bought them, but OH WELL

Lesli-Nice Ticker! That is so soon! Is your DH in Possum Kingdom? It's bad. The drought here is just awful. But this week we broke the insane heat wave...so we just need a little rain and I will be happy.

Amy-Yum cake! When is your birthday? Anything new to report on the house front?

AFM-I'm up having an acid reflux attack...either that or I ate something that I'm allergic to. I'm wheezing really bad. Otherwise, I am enjoying a lovely 4 day weekend. Yes 4 days...I'm not getting paid for them, but oh well. We went to the Trinity Audubon Center on Saturday. It's just a bunch of nature trails and an educational facility. It was cool we saw 2 giant jackrabbits, and we think we saw a bobcat sneak into the woods. We took a trail titled "Wetlands" and there were not any wet lands. It was kind of sad.

Today I went to Ikea with my best friend and her 2 month old. Bad idea...it was a madhouse. She is the one throwing me a shower and after spending today with her, I feel awful that she is doing my shower...she offered when she was pregnant and I hesitantly accepted and questioned her if it would be too much with a newborn. She def has her hands full with that little baby. She seems tired. Poor friend. What can I give to her to show my appreciation? A spa day gift card with a babysitting coupon from me? I know she can't use it right away because the baby is still nursing almost exclusively...she takes a bottle every now and then. Any other ideas?

Poor thing! It's easy to misjudge just how overwhelming a new baby can be! Especially if it's a first. Do you have a mutual friend who might be able to help her out?

I really like the spa idea. I don't know what new mom wouldn't appreciate that! Or you could do prepared meals... I've given meals from Magic Kitchen ( http://www.magickitchen.com/menu/baby-shower.html ). The recipients seemed to enjoy them.

Spa and babysitting sounds great! Prepared meals are also a wonderful idea with a new baby! Having a great meal that you don't have to do much other than warm up is HUGE! Another good idea is to get a cleaner (or do it yourself) for her home. You also might be suprised with the babysitting idea. If you have a couple hours, take the baby right after a feeding and she can sleep until the baby wakes up. A little nap will do her good! Smile

I don't know where Possom Kingdom is ? He started out in Abilene, but they send him all over depending on where the fires are....he told me yesterday they were on the way towards Austin where all those homes were destroyed, but they got turned around about halfway there for some reason, he said he's pretty sure they will send them back that way this week. I hope you guys get some rain and some relief, it has definitely been an awful year for you Texans!

Well, today wasn't quite what I expected... Yesterday after lunch I got this excruciating pain in my upper abdomen. It's happened before. It usually lasts a couple hours then goes away. Yesterday was different... It just kept hurting and hurting so I went to the doctor. Next thing I know, he was sending me to the hospital to have my gallbladder removed. So, here I am. They'll remove my gallbladder tomorrow. Not exactly the way I hoped to start the school year.

Um...WOW Amy! That's not good. How long are you going to be out for?

Leslie-My Belly band was my BFF when I was preggo. I think I bought a black and a white one, but I returned the white one and got a second black one.

I've had a very busy week or so. DD started daycare this week. She's not a fan. We were originally trying full days 2-3 days a week. But we may have to go to half days if she doesn't stop crying.
Last weekend I had a wedding. In Vermont. We were so worried about the roads, but they really weren't too bad. I, however, could have been in better condition. AF was late and I thought I might be PG. I took 2 tests before I left and they were negative. The ceremony was at the top of a mountain (elevation 4000), and on the way down on the tram, I nearly passes out. So now I REALLY thought I was PG. But finally, 2 more negative tests later AF showed up Monday morning. I'm guess the elevation, dehydration, not eating etc, just got to my during the wedding.
DH and I have decided to put an addition on the house instead of moving. The architect was at the house last night and the plans look good, but we have some more changes before we're ready. I'm finally getting a master BR that can fit my furniture and a second bath with a Walk In Closet!!!!
Lastly, my Aunt in Ireland needed a liver transplant and a matching liver became available on Monday. She had the surgery and is doing well!

Amy- I'm sorry to hear about your gallbladder surgery. I hope you are recovering well today. Take care and feel better!

Lesli-Hope your DH made it home ok.

Deirdre-That's exciting that you guys are doing an addition to your house. I worked on a lot of additions in Chicago, they are fun but challenging. It will be fun to see your existing house transform into something new. Sorry you got a BFN, not sure if were hoping for a BFP or not...but BFN's are never fun. I'm glad that your aunt is doing well. That's so awesome that she got a transplant.

AFM-Failed my test. Bummer. DF passed his, so I pretended to be happy for him, but I'm half jealous inside. I have to wait 6 more months to retake it. I'm going to start studying for a different one soon. I'm not as upset that I failed it as much as I am upset for having to pay for it again. They are $210 and there are 7 of them. Blek.

Thanks for the advice about what to give my friend that's throwing the shower. I thought about a cleaning service, but she pays her mom to clean and take care of the baby 2 days a week and I didn't want to step on any boundaries there. I'm starting to think food might be a good option, because her boss just bought her a mani/pedi session. But the spa still might work bc I was planning to include a massage. This same friend had a pregnancy scare this week. She was having weird pains and her doc told her to take a HPT before coming in. Well she took one and got a faint positive. But then took 2 digitals and both were negative. I guess having a 11 week old is one instance where you are happy to get a BFN.

Got my engagements today. Here's the link if you are interested. My hair looks kind of bad in some of them...but oh well.

he is still there, will be until end of next week

that would be so hard to have not pass a test that your DF did, I can totally understand how you are feeling! Ugh, I would feel the same way about having to pay for it again too!

the digitals aren't as accurate in detecting pg especially early on....so she may still be pg....has she been to the doctor yet? yeah def one instance where a bfn would be welcome!

and.....your engagements are GREAT! So cute!

Amy-Glad the surgery went well. Sorry you are in pain. Hope someone is taking care of you while you recover. Feel better soon!

Lesli- 5k's are so fun. I try to do at least one per year. In college my roommate and I did them almost every weekend. I like them because they are the easiest 3 miles you will ever run. With so many people you are distracted from the fact that you are running. Plus they support a good cause.

Get Well Soon Amy!!! Hopefully you have some help with your DDs. I had a CS, but didn't have kids running around so it was probably a lot easier for me.

Eliann-We were not planning for a baby at this time. We're hoping to start trying for a fall 2012 baby. But a May baby wouldn't have been the end of the world. A sigh of relief with the BFN, but a little sad too.

Leslie-I've ran a 5K before. You should do fine. My department does one every year and I'm thinking about running again this year. I had planned on running the Tunnel to Towers race in NYC this year, but 1-I was lazy all summer and haven't ran in months, and 2-when I thought I might be PG, I put off signing up for it and now it's too late. I'm a little remorseful about that :o(

AFM-not to much to report. Had a pretty good weekend. Decided to clean out Erin's play area and upgrade it from baby to toddler status. Took away the gate and all the little rattles and such. Bought a table and chairs set and organized bins for coloring, puzzles etc.
Tried to go outside for a little bit but the mosquitoes are just INSANE. I guess due to all the rain and flooding from the hurricane and last week's storms. Luckily I had some things to do downstate and it's not nearly as bad there. So Erin was able to enjoy the beautiful weather a little.

**child death mentioned**

I hope this doesn't upset anyone....give your children an extra snuggle and a kiss today.....

we just found out that one of the babies that goes to the same daycare as my dd, died, he was only 4 months old, at this time it's labeled as SIDS. I never met the mother, but I have seen all 3 of her children pretty much everyday when I go to pick up my dd. DD absolutely LOVES babies, and she always helped my babysitter (Darci) with the babies (there were only 2 little babies) Darci is a good friend (and neighbor) of mine, she does in-home daycare so she is the only one there.....needless to say she is VERY close to the children in her care, she is having a rough time of this....

it is just so sad, I don't know how a mother could get through something like this. I also just found out that the mother is actually dating my husband's cousin (we live in a really small town)

anyway, say a prayer for the mother, and also for my friend Darci, to be able to make it through the viewing/funeral tomorrow for sweet baby Tyler.....like I said I can't even imagine the hurt Sad

I'm pretty excited! I'm definitely going to keep doing them, and hopefully work up to a 10K or a half marathon! My friend and I go running quite a bit and we are getting so much better at it! We ran 3 miles last night Smile and I was pushing my 35 pound dd in a stroller....NOT a jogging stroller, so I got quite the arm workout LOL

and yes it is for a GREAT cause, they are doing a whole weekend of it http://roperapplefest.blogspot.com/ including a dutch oven dinner with Switchfoot doing live music, then a breakfast after the 5K, hot air balloon rides, zip line, apple pressing, etc.....and all the proceeds go to Primary Childrens Hospital here in Utah, for a family here in town who lost their little girl to a heart condition http://www.katerosenvall.blogspot.com/

anyway, I'm super excited!

Leslie-what a terrible sad story. I'm keeping them in my T&P's

I just heard a Switchfoot song on my ride in to work. Dark Horses I think it's called. Really good. Should be a really fun day!

AFM-Erin had another tough day in Daycare. But we had a parent/teacher conference last night and everyone there says she is improving and it WILL get better. So we just hang on I guess.

Have you ever seen the movie A Walk to Remember? One of my absolute FAVORITE movies, most of the music on that movie is Switchfoot Smile I absolutely LOVE them! I am so super duper excited....now I just have to talk my dh into going with me  (he gets back from TX tomorrow afternoon)

it WILL get better for her at daycare! What kind of problems are they/she having? It's a great sign that she's improving, but so so hard on the parents!

AFM-I've started a new vitamin regimen that is supposed to give you more energy and help you to tone up and lose fat, not muscle. I just started today, and I already feel absolutely AMAZING! And the great thing is that they have products you can take while pregnant and/or nursing! I became a distributor of it to get a discount on products lol

and last night at Zumba was AMAZING! I don't know if I ever told you, but I took over from my original Zumba teacher (she moved out of town) so up to this point I was doing all the same routines from when she taught and I was getting super bored with them (not sure if the class was, but I was) and last night I taught 2 BRAND NEW routines....I was so scared to teach them but I did great on both of them! I was concentrating so much on the new moves though that I wasn't really able to cue everyone very good, but that will come once I get more familiar with it. My friend (who is running the 5K with me) and I ran/walked to Zumba (about 1.5 miles) then did Zumba, then ran back home.....whew I was tired but it felt GREAT! I am so excited for my 5K

something funny too, the other night while we were running I was telling my friend about this 10K they do up in SLC called the "dirty dash" http://www.facebook.com/#!/video/video.php?v=10150384090425088 that I wanted to try next year....and then the next day realized I would be huge pregnant this time next year lol, so that won't happen ha ha

Hey gals!

Lesli~ How terrible for your friend and childcare provider! I'm so sorry. So heartbreaking.

Can I just say, your activity level amazes me! I wish I did a quarter of what you do!

Deidre~ I'm sorry Erin is having a tough time adjusting to childcare. I'm glad to hear she's improving, but I know how hard it is to watch your child struggle. It'll get better!

AFM~ I'm pretty much completely off pain meds (yay!) except for the occasional ibuprofen. Now I just notice that I get tired quickly. While being in the hospital and having surgery wasn't fun and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it has been kind of nice to HAVE to stop and rest. I feel like before this happened, I was running in about 20 different directions at the same time.

believe me I haven't always been this active....before Savanna I was pretty active, but I never really enjoyed running before until recently and I really do believe that it is Zumba that got me excited to work out again Smile

YAY so glad you are feeling better, although you are still tired, you kinda have to expect that after having surgery! I hope dh has been helping out Smile that is great that you are feeling good about having to stop and rest, sometimes you need that

Leslie - Tell me about these vitamins??? By any chance is it Shaklee brand? My MIL and SIL are distributors and I take there multivitamin, but I'll admit I'm not consistant. Which reminds me......

Amy-Glad you are feeling better. And, please, for all of us momma who can't....Take advantage of the rest time!!! Biggrin

I tend to get lazy during the summer, plus I like cold wheat beers in the evening so summer is my gain weight period. Now that fall is coming, I tend to run more often and switch to wine if I choose to have a drink at night.

Erin's been struggling with separation anxienty. Big time. She cries at the sight of the school, and was not her happy little self the first week. She's still crying, but does settle down after a while and even napped there yesterday. She also seems to be happier at home, but still wants to not be left alone at bed time. We've had to sit with her in her room until she falls asleep a few times.

nope it's Advocare....here is my linky if you want to look at it Smilehttps://www.advocare.com/11094545/default.aspx the girl who started me on it is actually a girl I "met" from this site, we both have daughters on our Jan 2009 board.....I am trying out the MNS MAX E vitamins, Catalyst, Spark, and Slam Smile

poor Erin Sad and poor mommy Sad my dd has been having separation anxiety also, but my babysitter tells me before I have even left the driveway she has forgotten and goes back to her normal self, but it really is so hard to leave your child when they cry and scream for you when you leave Sad she has just started doing this recently, she was in daycare from 7 weeks old until 9 months old when I got laid off from my previous job....I stayed home with her for 7 months while I was out of work, then last year in May I started this job I'm currently at and the first week was bad, but then she was just fine, until recently I don't know why all of a sudden she has a hard time when I leave.

sorry for that long story, I just want you to know I know how hard it is to leave, but I also know it will get better! hopefully she will make some new friends and she will be excited to go and see them!

Lesli- Such a sad story about the little one from your daycare. I can't even imagine. I will keep them in my thoughts.

Deidre- Sorry Erin is having a hard time with daycare. Hopefully she meets some new friends and it gets easier soon. I don't have kiddos, but I used to teach dance and swimming to little ones and I remember how hard it was for them to leave their mommies. That's hard.

Amy-Happy to hear you are feeling better. I like your new photo in your signature. Your girls are so cute!

AFM- DF is having a weekend long bachelor party this weekend. I'm volunteering to do 'hearts and hammers' this weekend. It's kind of like habitat for humanity kind of thing. You get 2 weekends and 100 people and you repair a house for seniors and low income residents. They are fun.

My shower last weekend was fun, but I was slightly bummed because only 3 people showed up out of the 18 that were invited. Everyone cancelled last minute.

My friend who threw the shower finally went to the doc. She's not pregnant, but may have miscarried. They did a sonogram and found "something" in there. The doctor didn't believe it was a miscarriage, but possibly something left from her birth. She said her midwife had "yanked" the placenta out after the birth and thinks it could have caused damage. She goes in again soon, she said they might have to do a D&C.

holy shiz....I just rode my bike from home to work after I had lunch at home, and it totally kicked my butt! I did it yesterday too and it felt 10 times harder today.....thank goodness I get to sit at my desk for 4 hours until I have to ride back home...and that the ride home is mostly downhill Smile

BTW yesterday was the first time I had ridden my bike since last summer lol I am enjoying it but wishing I would've started doing this earlier, soon it's gonna be too cold and snowy to do it!

Lesli~ You crack me up!

Elizabeth~ Sorry so few people came to your shower! That's just sucky. Something similar happened with Nora's party, except people just didn't RSVP at all. I felt like I had to be prepared for everyone to show "just in case".

AFM~ Today is our open house. I guess I'm feeling kind of pessimistic about it (which I KNOW doesn't help anything). I keep reminding myself that worrying doesn't change anything and when we are supposed to move, everything will fall into place and it will happen. In the meantime, we'll just keep the house ready to the best of our ability! I am going to bake a batch of brown sugar cookies so it smells yummy when people come in. Seriously, they are the best cookie I've ever tasted! The recipe is in the recipe sticky, if you want to try them for yourself.

Elizabeth - It IS getting better. Slowly. But since she only goes 2X a week, I can't expect miracles here. I don't mind leaving her so much as how she changes once we're home. Friday she fought getting dressed like crazy. I think she associated it with going to day care :O(
That stinks about shower turn out. But on the bright side you were REALLY able to sit and spend time with the 3 that did make. So many times at these types of parties the guest of honor is spread way too thin.

Lesli-I've ridden my bike a handful of times this season. My excuse is that it's in the back shed and a PITA to get to. How pathetic and lazy?

Amy-I haven't looked at the recipe yet, but your cookies sound yummy. I might have to give it a try. What a great idea to bake the scent into the house. Very sly Biggrin

AFM-Had a really good weekend. Went to a b'day party for a 4 y/o at an apple orchard. It was a beautiful day and really something different. And Erin had a blast. Sunday was DH's b'day. He was away for the weekend but when he got home we had dinner with his parents and mine. I made an apple pie from scratch and my freshly picked apples! I feel bad that I didnt' get him any gifts, but since he was away I really didn't have time to go shopping. We're have a bigger BBQ for him next weekend. I hope to have at least a little something for him. I'm a bad wife!
Tomorrow Erin is back to daycare. Wish us luck.

Lesli- I'm so sorry to hear about the little baby boy. I really can't even imagine.

Deidre- My DD was having seperation anxiety recently. She goes to daycare 3 days a week and the inconsistency does make it harder on them. With DS I prepare him the night before - ie: we are going to "school" tomorrow to see your friends and Miss Charlotte, and you are going to do art, and play outside on the pirate ship etc." It gets him in the right frame of mind.

Amy- Glad you are feeling better! Those cookies sound yummy! I hope the open house goes well!

Elizabeth - sorry people had to cancel for the shower. That stinks! Did you have fun with the three people that did come?

AFM - Had a great weekend, went apple picking Saturday with friends and then met other friends at the zoo on Sunday. DS had a meltdown leaving the zoo (it was past naptime) because he wanted to stay and see more animals.

Well my first 5K went well! I was proud of myself, my friend and I both got our personal best time Smile I made it in 29:24, she made it 3 seconds faster lol we ran the whole way. We both got 3rd place in our age groups (she's younger than me and in a diff age group) so we were both happy Biggrin we had a blast and want to do more 5K's in the future!

You all are making me want to find an apple orchard so the girls can go apple picking! It sounds like so much fun.

Lesli~ Congratulations on the 5K!

AFM~ The open house went ok. Not a huge turn out, but there was one family who seemed interested. Hopefully that will turn into something.

Today was my first day back at work. It went really well. All of the kids were pretty well behaved and I wasn't nearly as tired at the end of the day as I expected to be.

So my dh is possibly going to be going back to TX for another 2 week rotation, and I feel like an absolute AWFUL wife because I WANT him to GO! If he doesn't go, he wants to go camping this weekend (which usually I am all for) and it's not the camping that I don't want to do, its the other people who we would be going with.....they are UNBEARABLE! All they do the whole time is get WASTED and then cause DRAMA. I am pretty much the only person there not drunk.....I drink a beer or two, or have a shot or two, but I need to be sober to take care of my dd, besides the fact that I am just too dam old to be getting drunk, my body just can't take it anymore! So imagine how much fun it is for the almost completely sober person to be surrounded by a bunch of drunks causing drama! :violent2: I would much rather just stay home

We haven't hung around them in quite awhile (because of the above) but for some reason my dh wants to go

UGH

he told me today at lunch that he is "probably" going to TX, leaving on Friday.....well when is this "probably" going to be a "yes"!

Duh... I meant to post a new thread for the QOTD, but accidentally put it it the chat thread. That's what happen when I post before an adequate amount of coffee.

Lesli-Congrats on the 5k. Ever since you've mentioned it, I've been wanting to do one. Might sign up for one on October 8th. You are super active. Biking home from work, teaching zumba, running 5k's, that's a lot girl. You shall be my inspiration in the next few weeks. Post on!

Deidre-A birthday party at an apple orchard sounds so fun! And yum, apple pie is my favorite. Have fun at your BBQ birthday party for your DH this weekend. I think an apple pie is sufficient, but did you get him anything else?

Amy-That cookie idea is brilliant. I would so want to buy any house that smelled like freshly baked cookies. Haha. Hope that family puts in an offer. Glad to hear you are feeling better and back at work.

Mel-Apple picking too? Where do you all live again? I will have to see if there is an orchard near me. Sounds fun and relaxing.

AFM- Yes the shower was fun even though only 3 people showed. I got to spend more time talking rather than just playing games and opening presents.

Things are slowing down at work, so I had Monday off and I also have today off. Bummer. I got my travel vaccines for my honeymoon a couple days ago and ouch, those things hurt. I got 4 and I think its too many, bc I'm having some weird pains. Oh, and my friend is having the D&C tomorrow, so I'm going to bring her some food on Saturday. Poor thing.

Sorry work is slow... It's nice to have time off, but it hurst when you get that check!

Where are you going on your honeymoon?

Lesli~ Glad you don't have to deal with the drama! I hate drinking while camping... There's nothing worse than waking up, hungover, after sleeping on a pitiful air matress, or even worse, the ground.

AFM~ Not much going on here... I'm glad it's Friday. Going back to work has been easier than I expected, but that doesn't mean I'm not ready for a couple days off! I think we're just going to get stuff done around the house.

Mel - I'm almost afraid to bring up daycare the night before. I feel like she might freak out. But when I have brought it up in the past I'm not sure if she knew what i was talking about???

Leslie - Horray for a great 5K! I so need to take some motivation from you! I would love to go camping, but the drama drunks would definitley turn me off too.

Elizabeth - We decided to cancel the BBQ. The weather is not looking good and our house is a bit chaotic right now. We bought a new fridge and DH and picking it up today, but we had to open up the area where the old fridge was to fit the new one. So right now our old fridge is sitting in the middle of the kitchen and a friend has been in everyday to patch up the area where we took down small wall. He finishes today and then we have to paint. So probably wouldn't be ready by Sunday. I offered to take DH out to dinner tonight, but since he basically told his mom off yesterday for being late to watch the baby, I really don't feel comfortable asking her to sit again tonight.

Amy-Glad work wasn't too bad for you. I hope you have a productive weekend. I need one of those SO bad! (A productive MONTH is more like it!)

AFM - No much to say that hasn't been said already. House is a mess. Been working all week and DH has worked pretty much every night so I've been putting the baby to bed and going to bed right after that. There's not too much point to trying to tidy up when there is a refrigerator in the middle of the kitchen! Good thing we haven't cooked much either!

Deirdre~ Sorry DH's b'day plans fell through. Did you get the new refrigerator in?

Quiet weekend for me... Just cleaning and a little shopping. It's been so crazy at our house lately that a quiet weekend was much welcomed! We might look at a couple houses this week. Problem is, we can't do much until our house actually sells. *sigh*

I live in Rhode Island which is south of Mass (boston) and east of Connecticut/New York City. Seems silly to explain but so many people don't know where RI is.... The New England area is huge on apple picking.

Your poor friend. I hope she's doing okay!

hmmmm, yeah that could backfire, huh? Are there other kids there that she likes? Maybe invite them over for a playdate?

Things are quiet here, DS was wild and crazy this past weekend so I'm pretty exhausted from dealing with him, gotta love toddlers!

does anyone want to share (if you know) your birthplan for your next baby?

here is my dd birthstory http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?t=409568&page=4 if anyone wants to read it (I'm the very last post on page 4)

what I want to TRY to do different is this time if possible.....

while really I had a GREAT induction, the spinal headache I got was no bueno and I would really love to avoid that! I don't know if my body just doesn't do well with the epi, or if it was just the one time thing, but I think I would like to TRY to go as natural as possible with my next one.....if I have to be induced again (seriously I think dd would still be in there if I let her) I know that is next to impossible as i have a really low pain tolerance, and really even if I don't have to be induced I don't have any idea if I'm going to be ABLE to go without the drugs (ahhh the drugs were SO nice) but that is what I want to TRY LOL

anyone else want to share their previous birth stories, and/or their thoughts on the next babe?

Sure, I'll share. I have had two natural births in the hospital, my second of which pretty much couldn't have gone better other than tearing. For my next birth I want a repeat of DD, without the tearing - so I am going to do the pushing phase a little differently next time, slower and calmer. With DS I pushed for 2.5 hours, so I pushed really hard with DD because I didn't want that to happen again, which is why I tore. Next time I will slow down! LOL!
