Hey Everyone! I am pretty active on the Jan 08 board but thought i could maybe get some help from you guys.....here's the deal:
i went into preterm labor at 26 wks, was dilated 3 cm and contracting every 3 mins. now i am on 24/7 bedrest until my baby is born! i have been looking for some things to keep me occupied and a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago i knew how to crotchet. i can't remember much of it now but want to try to pick it up again so i can maybe make some stuff for my baby! are there any websites that have patterns and/or "how-to" stuff so that i can re-learn? obviously i'll have to send DH out to get some yarn and a needle!
thanks for the help!
I always have to review which is which when I crochet. Double crochet, Treble crochet, half-double crochet.... Anyway, I don't know of any sites, off the top of my head. I always consult a how-to book or the back of a pattern book for instructions. Not much help, I know. Maybe send DH to B&N or Borders to pick up a book of baby crochet patterns (that will have the refresher information in the back). I have one called "Candy Crochet" that has just baby crochet clothes patterns in it that's really neat and has varied patterns.
Or, if you remember some of the crochet stitches, just start working on a basic blanket with any yarn in the stitch(es) you remember.
What about checking your library catalog online and seeing what they have for books, and maybe put a hold on a few things, then ask dh to go pick them up for you.
some of the yarns will have free patterns on the back of the label, but those aren't the cutest patterns. I'm thinking you'd be happier with a couple of good books to pick from some things.
or check knitty.com, they have a lot of neat patterns there.
Do you know the baby's sex yet? boy or girl? There's lots of cute gender specific patterns out there too.
I did start a unisex blanket for ds (rainbow baby colors), but I never did get it finished in time. It was going to be something like 75 hexagons, with 225 ends to sew in (or more) pleach.

I only know of a knitting help site (knittinghelp.com) but it is great for if you want to learn to knit! Good luck!
