2 Questions...please help.

I have two questions and am hoping you ladies canhelp.

1) I am looking for a pattern for a horse sweater for my niece. If anyone has seen one for free or even for sale on could you let me know where?

2) Does anyone know how to purl 2 together through the back loop? I have asked a few seasoned knitters how to do this and they were all stumped and the way it was explained on the net doesn't make any sense to me. A simple explanation would be appreciated.
The silly thing is that I only have to do it once so I'm thinking that I may just purl two together normally.

Thanks

I can't help you with the horse pattern, but I have purled 2 together tbl before and it was a real pain! At the time, i was a super tight knitter (I have since learned to loosen up a bit)...and its a tight stitch to begin with. If you knit very tightly, you might find that it feels near impossible to do.

I can try to help you if you hold the yarn in your right hand English style...but it might be hard to explain in words. Basically make sure you have the yarn in front, like with a regular purl stitch. Now take your right hand needle and bring it behind your left hand needle/stitches and go through the next two stitches on your left needle starting with the second one in..not the one at the end of the needle. Basically you are going to go through them, from the back, in the same direction that the left hand needle is going through them...if that makes any sense. Then wrap your yarn around the right hand needle tip just like you would for any other purl stitch and pull it through both of them.

Ok, i just re-read that and it sounds totally convoluted.

Which video did you watch? I quickly watched two videos...one was a different way that I am unaware of and even tought itwas purl 2 tbl...the yarn was held in the back like you would knitwise...maybe its an unconventional way to get the same results, but easyer to actually execute.

the one on knitting help.com is the way I know..and what I failed miserabley to describe up above Lol

Kim..you are awesome....

your explanation was pretty much what I thought I had to do (it did make sense) and that video proved it...not I get it.

The pattern is perfect....my MIL wanted a good one and that is great.

Thanks so much!!!!!
