Autumn and knitting!

This is the time of year that I normally am dying to start Christmas projects. But this is a strange year for some reason, because I have lots of other things to finish up before I can get to knitting. I have a huge stash of yarns though, so I'll be ready when the right time arrives. How about you? Anyone working on something???

I am busy making fingerless mittens for the family. I'm also sewing a quilt, so my knitting time is limited. I keep both projects running though because knitting is portable and sewing a quilt (at least this quilt) is not.

The only think I am considering for holiday knitting is fingerless mittens for my kids' teachers. My family just gets the knit items when I finish them. If I waited until Christmas they might grow out of them before they get a chance to wear them!

Good for you Janel! Who is the quilt for?

I've just been so swamped, but yesterday I bought (even more) yarn to try to make myself some socks. I've only made booties in the past, never socks. I don't know when I'll ever finish them but I love the yarn and am eager to get moving on them!

The quilt is for Will. I started it last year when he was diagnosed. It's dog print fabric that I got because he was dog-crazy. How that we have a dog he's not as crazy about dogs and probably not even like the quilt by the time I finish. Maybe his two younger brothers will!
