Ok...i'm not actually knitting socks, but I had to make a very basic hat that my eldest needs to use for a school project and I decided it was the perfect time to get myself to learn continental. Its knit in the round, all knit stitch and I can't believe how much faster it is!! And on top of that, i think continental forces me to knit looser than I usually do....so maybe my guage will be more spot on now adays(i'm a tight knitter usually)!
Congrats. I noticed a looser gauge that was closer to "normal" when I switched, too. Kim, just wait til you try ribbing continental - you'll wonder why you didn't switch earlier.
I knit loose too already- I don't even know which method I knit- it's something like- my mom taught me to knit left-handed and I'm right handed- so anything I can figure out, is what I'm doing.. knitting.
