    Default Crocheters?

I'm not a knitter. Although I have a friend who says since I crochet, I could pick it up pretty easy.

So my question is how many other posters crochet only? And do you have any good patterns? I have several books that I love, but I'm always looking for new patterns. So what do you use?

I can always find a good pattern on Ravelry.com although you have to sign up on a waiting list before you get invited to the site and that usually takes about a week BUT, everyone on here will tell you it is well worth the wait.

Thanks. I just signed up for the waiting list. I can't wait to get my invite. I remember seeing people talking about Ravelry, but I thought it was just for knitters. lol

I'm off to check out the other sites now.

Its for knitters and crocheters. Alot is knitting, but there is ALOT of crochet on there too, alot more than you'll find anywhere else.
    Have fun!

I am an only crocheter too! I have tons of patterns and sites that I love, but, it depends on what you are looking for.

Hey Stacey, I'm a crocheter, too, as you might know. For new patterns, I second Ravelry! Also, Lion's brand yarn's website has free patterns too, with registration.

I used to be a crocheter only, my grandma taught me as a kid though so it was really hard for me to try to pick up crocheting with a pattern and I liked the look of knit projects better so I just decided to switch to knitting.
I actually think some of my crocheting knowledge confused me a bit when learning to knit, but they do have similarities. I didn't find it too hard, I taught myself with online tutorials.
But to answer your original question I've seen a few cute crochet patterns in the isles at yarn stores in those little booklets, most were baby projects but I've seen some cute crocheted purses/bags too.

    Thanks everyone.

I'm patiently waiting on my invitation to ravelry. I can't wait to see the whole site.

Most of the books I have are afghan books. I have one one nothing but dishrags, but to tell the truth, most of them look the same to me lol.

I just bought a double ended hook and can't wait to find some patterns for it. So hopefully, ravelry will have some for that. Plus, I registered on crochetpatterncentral.com and have already found some mew things there.

Kara, I *knew* you were a crocheter, but had forgotten. lol Can I blame the stress of the campaign?

I crochet only. I have a disc protrusion in my neck that is SERIOUSLY aggravated by the knitting motion, so I didn't even get past learning how to cast on and get a few rows in before I gave up. I enjoy ravelry, but most patterns I've found by doing a google search for "whatever crochet pattern" takes me to a page on crochetpatterncentral.com.

I *can* knit... but I hate it... I *LOVE* crocheting! I go in spurts though. I have a partially completed table cloth on the go that was started almost 8 years ago (it was to be a wedding gift... wedding didn't happen... finally pulled out a year ago or so and decided should finish it for my dd... have done some but since we moved last summer I haven't touched it). I also have a afghan on the go... one of those "free" patterns from the yarn aisle at Walmart LOL Very simple... but needed something to do while I was sitting at the hospital waiting for dh to get out of OR last month LOL I like to have something to do with my hands if I'm watching a movie or something like that... don't feel I'm "wasting" time so much LOL
