I just got one it is not as easy as it looks. But fun anyway!!! I am alreayd out of the roving I bought I will have to take a pic of my supper elementary strand of wool yarn.
Oh! I have always wanted to try this. I've heard its not 'easy'. Can't wait to see pics!

It is not exactly hard it is just a definitely multitasking job. Things you do all at the same time 1) spin 2) feed the roving 3) keep the length of the roving away from the spinning (I think I need to make a roving ball) 4) attempt to get the strain to be one thickness 5) remember what you where told to do when you bought it.
I keep saying I'm going to do this, especially since there's a site that has them on sale right now. I messed up though, by not buying a spinning wheel on sale, which I think I'd rather have.
I've seen people use home-made spindles out of a cd and a pencil, and they spin some neat looking yarn
I bet there's a spinner's group in your area you could go to and get some help/advice- also many LYS have spinners nights, some not charging anything to go that would be a great way to get help too.
I want to see pictures of your hand-spun- next are you going to hand-dye?
