    Default easy beginner pattern?

Does anyone know an easy beginner sweater pattern (knit or crochet)? Or a good beginning book with a pattern. I've done a little knitting, but not much. I have two toddler boys and I'd like to make a sweater for one or both, especially now that we know we're expecting a third boy. It would make a good hand-me-down.

    Thanks!

Are you on Ravelry? If not, hop on over there and get yourself joined up! There are TONS of free patterns linked there, complete with difficulty ratings.

I'd recommend a top down raglan. If you can knit in the round, a pullover, if you can't/don't want to knit in the round, you could do a cardigan.

I looked at a few, and here is a quick one -- cardigan though.

Congrats on the 3rd boy! I'm in the same boat.

I learned to knit using this book:

    http://www.amazon.com/Knitting-Baby-...4114734&sr=8-1

It is great and has many wonderful patterns in it, including several sweaters. It starts you off easy, with simple projects and teaches you techniques as you go, getting more advanced throughout the book. The pattern featured on the front is a simple garter stitch cardigan...but there are several great ones inside too. A nice roll neck pullover and a cute fairisle cardigan once you are feeling a little more adventurous..and many many more.

I personally thought this book was great. Its why i know how to knit.

Hi sweetie! If you crochet, check out the "Baby It's Cold Outside" sweater. Google it and you'll find it, it's a free pattern. Awesome newborn sweater that is very easy, it was my first wearable item ever made. And once you make it, it will be very easy for you to measure the boys and make ones that fit their measurements. Super easy pattern to adapt. I actually used the template and made one for myself as a beginner.

Thanks, everyone! I got a book to make sure I have the basics down correctly, then I'm going to try that first sweater pattern.
