I never knew there was a board for this I was checking out the photography board when I found this one.
I'm Kim a SAHM to two beautiful little girls Claire (4) and Addison (2 next month) I'm usually on the NOV 08 board.
I'm a beginner- intermediate I guess knitter/crocheter I learned the basics when I was a kid but re-taught myself after having kids. I learn by watching youtube I just google what I need to stich and find out how to do it LOL
Right now I've done mostly hats and blankets but I did finish a dress for my little ones BD.
here are a few things I've done.
last years Elf and tree hats
My crochet dress
And my new creation, a ponytail/pigtail hat. My little girl always has her hair in ponytails and pigtails. So there are three openings for when she has her hair up. I then attempted a flower (without a pattern.. I need to work on that part) to button over the hole when its not needed.
Other then that I sort of scrapbook (haven't had a chance to do it in a couple years) and make cakes Look forward to "meeting" you all and seeing your creations
Welcome to our pretty slow board! I enjoyed seeing your creative hat for the pony tails!
I'm at a lull right now, though there are a hundred items I'd like to find time for before Christmas. Anyway, I have all the wool I need, just need to finish garden cleanup etc before sitting by the wood stove to knit for the grandchildren.
Hello! This IS a slow board, but i kind of like to think it gets a little busier when the colder months come. I'm Kim too....and I haven't picked up my needles in a loong time, but have had the itch to do so! Stick around and check back in once in a while! I think it will start moving again soon! Love your projects! Your girls are very cute too!
I love love love Susan B. Anderson! I dont' have her itty bitty hats book, but i do have her itty bitty nursery and toys books!
Everyday i keep thinking i have to get my needles out and do some knitting but I have yet to actually accomplish that. Maybe i should make it a goal this week.
If i start posting about what I'm working on...people will see some very familiar projects, as I haven't finished up any of my old things from last year it seems.
If there is one new project I would like to start this fall...it would be these:
My mother-in-law gave me the pattern last Christmas and I really want to knit a pair this fall! I have a pair of fiddlehead mittens that i wear to death. I love them and I get lots of compliments on them from strangers! But i need a pair i can swap out for when the others get wet...or just for something different!
Hi Kim
I knit, but I've dabbled in crochet for making dishcloths because it goes faster.
My son has the same tree hat you made for your DD. I love the ponytail hat. Very cute!
I'm Janel, I have three sons and I am like GardenBug/Marie. I have enough yarn to last me my lifetime (and I'm younger than Marie). I am trying to knit a sock a month, so I'll end up with 6 pairs in a year. I went crazy knitting baby pants (longies) for my youngest and I'll probably do more. I'm making a couple pairs for my friend in exchange for some sewing (which is a skill I'm cultivating, but it's harder to find time for it since it can only be done in my sewing room, unlike knitting which I can do anywhere).
Janel, I just bought more yarn over the weekend, along with wooden (bone?) heart shaped buttons. I'm so busy with garden clean-up and book club that I wonder when I'll finish all the things I really WANT to knit!!!!
