Default How do you cut around a pattern?

I'm trying to sew a summer outfit for my DD and I have the pattern cut out and now need to cut out the material......... do you pin it on? That seems a little hard, what do you?

I remember when my mom made us outfits from those patterns. Yes, she would pin it onto the fabric and cut around.

I would pin it. It's a PITA, but pretty much essential.

Patterns can be tricky because you really have to read them (where to cut on the fold, and cut those little inward triangle things, etc), but once you learn how to use them you will LOVE getting creative with them!

    I love sewing! LOL
