Hey. I thought I'd introduce myself. I've been crocheting for (omg) 16 years, and knitting for 12. I like making things that I actually need and use from both.
In crochet, I make garments for myself and my baby--NOT the weird 1970's stuff, clothes that actually look and wear like clothes--along with just about anything that doesn't need to be stretchy.
In knitting, I also make clothes and other stuff I need. I learned to knit for the lace, cables and colorwork, as well as to make socks an gloves--none of which work as much to my satisfaction in crochet.
Really what decides whether I knit or crochet are the texture I want and the yarn I'm going to use.
Right now, I'm crocheting a blanket for our new guest bed and knitting myself a pair of knee highs from the toe up.
My Ravelry id is stitchwhisper, and the blog I have with my design partner (I write patterns) is stitchwhisper.blogspot.com.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hey, I thought I replied to you already..Guess not! So WELCOME!
I'm the Nana here, and have been knitting lately for my new granddaughter Ivy. I'm finishing up a little sweater, working on the last sleeve and then I'll need to assemble it. Gardening season really interferes with knitting though... When I finish it I'll post a photo. I'm really enjoying this pattern!
