Ivy's twirly skirt

I started on the skirt for Ivy at the fair. It was super hard to get the first 3 rows on the circular needle (the pattern calls for doing a front and back panel, but I decided to do it in the round). After that, it’s been going quite quickly! Maybe if we drive down to Uncle Stan’s for the long weekend I might be able to get another good chunk done. Colour #1 is almost done!

I did, however, lose the incentive to get the skirt done for the fair since it became apparent that the size would be way too big for Ivy. It is very quick and easy, though (except for the first 3 rows), so it’s a great non-thinking pattern!

Oh that is really cute!

Sierra is not a skirt kind of girl, but if I could get her to wear shorts underneath it........

What colors are you doing it in?

I got several greend and a yellow.. I should take a picture. Originally I was going to start light liellow and then go darker, but when getting started, DH and I agreed that I'd start with light green, then yellow, then darker greens. It seemed to work better on that night!

I'll post a pic when I remember. I keep it in the truck (the only time I can really work on it is when DH is driving!), so I rarely think about it otherwise!

And shoot! I think we'll stay home this weekend. As great as that is for relaxing, it means I won't get any knitting done. I might get some more work on DSS's quilt, though!

No quilt making this weekend! We decided to go check out a piece of land that we came across. It was very wet and not what we are looking for. On the other hand, I got a good bit of knitting done!

Here's a photo:

It's hard to get a good photo because it's on a round needle... The top is the top of the skirt. The next colour is a darker green.

Any more progress Sarah??

I just finished a Victorian style purse. It's really cute, I'm quite happy with it. Not a very difficult pattern, just crocheted in the round. I'll make sure I take a picture of it soon!

Actually, I got a bunch more done this weekend... however since every increase is by 1/3 of the stitches on the previous colour, it doesn't look like much ( I did about 10 rows, but it would have been the entire first green!)! I'm more than 1/2 done the 2nd green now, and when I start the next colour I'll post another pic! I'm so glad that it's relatively brainless except for the increase rows! I never have more than a little while to concentrate.

I managed to finish colour #3... next row a new colour (and .5 times as big again...) I hope I have enough yarn. I had JUST enough to do the last stripe.

I'll post a pic as soon as I get the next colour started.

If you need more, let me know and I'll try to get it and bring it when I visit.

I think I should be OK... I used one full ball of yarn for the last colour and if I'm increasing by 1/3, then 2 balls of yarn should be good... I think I have 1.75 and another piece.
