Looking for an adorable baby hat pattern

My friend just gave birth to the cutest little boy last night and now I'm finally inspired to knit again! Biggrin I would love to knit one of those adorable hats for him. Anyone know where I could find a free pattern online? TIA Biggrin

I am just pulling these out of my random findings as I go...i don't really know what your preferences are!

This is also a set that has a cute hat

That pattern comes from a directory of a lot of free patterns...there are several hats mixed in

This is a directory of free baby hat patterns, i didn't paruse through them all

Hope yo ufind somethign you like! If I have more time later, I'll come back and look more Smile

Edited to add, a couple from that knittingpatterncentral page that I personally thought were cute!

Lots of neat patterns there. I wonder when I'll have time for another project! Probably next winter, once garden season is over.

LOL Kim (KimPossible) I'm saving these links, I'm going to check them out, especially the sets. Did you happen to run across any that are larger that are for grade-schoolers? I have a bunch of patterns for babies- most are from Leisure Arts (type) flyers that are sets- with hat and booties and a sweater or blanket, but not a whole lot for bigger kids.

Kim ( mylittlemunkers ) that's a cute picture of your ds with Clifford- where did you have that taken? I found any places around here where we could go to see Clifford, but I think Nicholas would be excited about it. Smile

Check out Amy Bahrt's Creature Comforts: Cozy Knits for Wee Ones. I'm knitting a sweater from there for DS, but have also made a couple of hats and some mittens for DD.

Oh my gosh Birdie that is SOOOOO cute! I love it! I've seen the cover to that book but have never looked through it. Do they have any pig patterns in there? I love pigs Smile

I don't think they do... I REALLY need to return this book to the library, but I'm buying it next week anyway.
What I love about the book, is all the pieces are from one basic pattern, using charts for the specific piece. So to learn one and then want to do a different hat just switches the colors out, y'know? After awhile I just have to use the chart without flipping around to the basic pattern.
Here are a couple of screenshots of it.

Oh the sheep are great!. Sheep are a close runner up to pigs in my humble opinion Lol

A while back I posted a confession of my pattern book addiction on this board...thank you for enabling me! Lol

Very cute. How big do the pattern sizes go up to? Will these fit elem. age kids (kids small size 6 or bigger?) My ds is almost 5, so he's out of the baby and toddler stuff. I've been trying to find him cute things to make. I could modify another pattern, but only if I can't find something that really works well for him already to go.

I love the charts, but I'm not sure I want to buy the book if all I use it for is the chart pattern, and nothing will fit him. Smile

thanks! Bonita

Depends on the yarn you use; I use the recommended yarn for the 6, 12 or 18 month sizes (which is what they're made for) but if I want to make a hat for DD I use worsted weight yarn.

Thank you all SO much! Those are all such adorable patterns! Love those fair isle ones too, Kim!

Bonita, that picture of Jackson with Clifford (and him holding his Wishbone toy dog up to the Jack Russell) was taken at some big pet show we went to in Toronto about two years ago! I can't believe it's been that long already! LOL He is still totally in love with dogs! I should make him a dog sweater. I do have some material with dogs printed on it for a pair of pyjamas. I've had that in the closet for about two years too! I have the best intentions - now if only there were 48 hours in a day!!!

Thanks again, ladies! I appreciate it! Biggrin
